View Full Version : Post? Log in. Log in again. Log in again... ARRGH

Forgive me if this has been addressed elsewhere; a quick look at the thread titles didn't reveal one on this subject.

I'm having serious trouble posting replies to threads. If I log in, then read threads, then try to post a reply, it tells me I'm not logged in. Then when I log in it said "invalid thread" and I have to start all over again. I've found that if I go back to the "reply" screen and copy all the text I've typed, go back and log in, go to the thread, hit post reply (at which point I usually have to log in for a fourth time) and then paste the copied text, everything works smoothly.

Since nobody else seems to be talking about this problem, I'm assuming it's on my end. But anything the mods and/or admins can do to shed some light on the subject would be greatly appreciated.

No, it is absolutely NOT just you. I've tried to post the same reply for about 20 minutes now. I'm getting so, so mad... Anyway, no, it's not just you, and I'd really like some kind of suggestion here.

(Betting this doesn't post on the first try...)

Go to your User CP, then "Edit Options" then click on the option to browse board with cookies.

As pepperland girl said, in your user options, there are two options for keeping cookies around longer. Set both of those to yes and see if it resolves the problem.
user cp -> Edit options
First try "Browse board with cookies?" set to yes.

If you stil have problems, you could also try
Automatically login when you return to the site? (uses cookies) set to yes.

Also look at your browser settings regarding cookies, and make the appropriate choices.

Hooray! (Actually, that's a premature celebration, but I assume it works.)

I was already browsing with cookies, which is why I couldn't figure out what the heck was going one. Arnold, I kiss you. If I knew your address, I'd send you noodles. (I just bought fettucini noodles...)
