OK, my SO's uncle had a 78 rpm record (doesn't have it anymore) with a song on it called "Maggie."

It was guy singing about a girl named Maggie who has so many relatives that keep popping up all over the place while this guy is trying to date her.

The lyrics included:

"Her uncle, her cousins, she had them by the dozens"

Then later on something about the car breaks down he opens the hood and
"There was her father, her mother, her sister and her brother
Oh I'll never see Maggie alone."

Any idea who did this song? I'd like to find a copy of it but the song title of "Maggie" is too generic for online searching, and I don't know who to ask.

So, is anyone familiar with this song?

TIA

It looks like it's by Kenny Roberts - you can find a clip of the song here (http://www.kennyroberts.homestead.com/Song_clips.html) as "I Never See Maggie Alone"

I think the song you're looking for is actually
called I Never See Maggie Alone(Tilsley & Lynton).

Hope that narrows your search a bit.

Wow! That's it!
I played the clip for my SO and he says that's the song. Now we have to email the guy to see if we can buy a CD. I'll check also on the major e-retail sites like b&n and cdnow.

Thanks so much!
This board never ceases to amaze me!
