I dunno why, but I gotta share this.
I was listening to Foggy Mountain Breakdown and it just hit me. Hard. I got up and clogged....hard to do in sneakers on carpet (and I'm no clogger, anyway)...wore me out, but damn! It felt good.
So dance.

And here I thought this was going to be a thread about Dance Dance Revolution. (yes I admit it, I play it :D)

I agree.
Actually I think dancing alone, exactly as the music drives you, is the true dance. Unfettered by convention or style. Very cool. And it does feel good. Any other dancing pales by comparison.
I tend to dance like David Byrne. Wish I had his balls, to dance like that in public. I don't. So I sit.
Wanna dance? :D
Peace,
mangeorge

I used to dance alone, but now I pick up my 16 month old and dance. Makes us both happy. This weekend it was "Gettin Jiggy Wit It." Last weekend it was "Sexy and 17." Yup, she's my little rock n' roll queen. :D

Oh man, if there was a dancin' by yourself Olympics, I would win the gold medal every time. I've developed my own style. Hell, I'm a friggin' world class ballerina when I'm alone! Most Fun Ever.

I have to dance alone, 'cause nobody will dance with me.
My son dances alone when he thinks nobody is looking. He looks like a little bitty Jed Clampett.

No, mangeorge, THANK YOU.
And h.q....your son sounds adorable. Jed was always one of my favorite characters.
[blatant flirt] And if ya ever get tired of dancing alone, come visit me and we'll cut a rug. [/blatant flirt]

P.S. Lee Ann Womack's I Hope You Dance comes to mind. I'm not much of a pop country fan, but this song is really pretty cool if you pay attention to the lyrics.
I have been known to roll up the carpet, wind up the Victrola, put "The Castle House Rag" on and do the Grizzly Bear with myself till the downstairs neighbors complain.
