I had never used it for anything, but had always heard it was good at getting red wine out of shirts. Lo and behold, I spilled red wine on my shirt. And club soda got it out.
I think this is the most mundane and pointless thing i have ever shared, but I was really excited abut it.
What else does club soda do? Or for that matter, what other obscure household products do amazing things?
p.s. if anyone is interested I can tell you a surefire way to get candle wax out of carpet. it's amazing.

If you mix it with gin and a twist of lime, you can drink it. Amazing!

LOL! Before I got to the end of this post I thought "And it was really cool that time I was able to get candle wax outta the carpet by ironing it with a paper towel over it!" - Great Minds think alike! :) I have learned hundreds of amazing things like this from ehow.com - you have to register to see all info but it's free. They are amazing too, much like club soda.

Hairspray is great for getting out ballpoint ink stains.
(I just had surgery, I am on drugs, and this is me at my most boring:))
Are all your drinks inclusive at Club Soda?

Soda (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/member.php?action=getinfo&userid=7376) has a club? I have a feeling I know what type, and I wanna go!

I'll drink it plain or (preferred) with a squirt of lime.
No gin though. (And yes, I have been photographed holding a bottle of tonic water.) :p

Club soda is also great as a (wait for it) rinse for your hair, if it's oily or if you have dandruff. I'm not sure why, but it works. Then again, so does vodka. Really.
The reason why hairspray gets ink out of clothes is the alcohol, so a bottle of regular old isopropyl will do the job too. If you have colorfast leather shoes that are a little too tight, a little alcohol will help them stretch.
Kosher salt rubbed onto a stained copper pot with a half of a lemon will remove stains. (Regular salt works too, but not as well.) Baking soda rubbed with a half lemon will take stains off of your countertops, and will help remove baked on stuff from glass or Corning ware type casseroles.
I could tell you about stale buttermilk biscuits and wallpaper, but you wouldn't believe me.

I got one. WD-40 gets out oil stains.
Take your oil stained shirt, spray with WD-40, let it sit for ten minutes, and then spray with Shout or Spray and Wash and let that sit for ten minutes. Then wash.
The WD-40 mixes with and liquifies the old oil, so it comes right out with the treatment stuff.
