Since the Simpsons quote thread was so great; I thought I'd ask everyone this. Who is your favorite Simpsons character and why? I gotta go with Ralph Wiggum.

Apu for his great epithet "Vishnu H. Krishna"

Ralph is great but I have to go with his dad, Chief Wiggum.
Mayor Quimby is also great.

I like Maggie's bete noir, Baby Gerald. He looks exactly like Helena Bonham-Carter.

Marge's sisters are quite funny. Thelma Bouviere, and I don't know the other one's name.

Groundskeeper Willie! The "Basic Instinct" takeoff was priceless.

Toss-up between Burns and Krusty...the old guy schtick versus the Jewish clown schtick.
Chuckski, not to be a nitpicker, but I think it was "Shiva H. Vishnu!" Kind of in the same vein as Skinner's "G.M. Chrysler!"

Ooh, tough choice. All the ones mentioned so far are good. But I do love Krusty the Clown. The seen it all, has-been, Jewish Catskills comedian in clown garb is funny funny funny.

Sorry to go for the obvious, but Homer always busts me up.

In the 'occassional character' catagory I have to say, hands down, Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz. Such a shame.
In the 'Regular Character' catagory I have to go with Mr. Burns and/or Grandpa, depending on who gets more air time. And seeing the two face off is always good humor.
Still, for best lines, I have to agree with Homer. But then, he gets so much airtime it's a simple ratio thing that he's going to have a ton of great lines.

The five of six all time best episodes are those with Side Show Bob! Kelsey Grammer is wasted on that "other show" on NBC. He should be a Simpsons regular.

Homer does have the best lines, but I'm gonna have to go with Grandpa Simpson. He's got a certain charm....

Hands down my favorite character is Krusty. The shoddy products he has his name on (the home pregnancy kit with a small print warning against using if pregnant is my favorite) are a riot.
