For me, I would have to say Peter Jennings is the ultimate puppet head.

For me, it's those two bozos in the morning on "all-news" WTOP-AM here in Washington, DC.

Okay, let me amend the title to say Network news...

Ashleigh Banfield.
When she was in Afghanistan she died her hair to fit in with the locals, but kept her chic glasses.

Brian Williams, that guy seems like your typical talking hairdo as Dave Barry puts it.

Shepard Smith (http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,1796,00.html), on Fox News Channel. He just creeps me out. I'm not a big fan of Dan Abrams (http://www.msnbc.com/news/abramsreport_front.asp) on MSNBC either.

I can't believe it took 7!!!! posts before someone, namely me, dredged up Mr. "No-Spin Zone My Ass!!" himself, Bill O'Reilly.

I don't think of O Reilly as a newscaster. I think of him as a talk show host, like Rush Limbaugh.
Brian Williams needs to get smaller eye guards for when he tans in the booth. He looks like a racoon.

She barely qualifies as a newscaster, since the reports she does are "human interest " things but I've loathed Jeannie Moos (spelling?) for many a year now. Even before CNN, she was a local reporter for a station in Plattsburgh NY and I hated her even then. What made it worse is that in that part of the country before cable, TV stations were spread pretty thin so she was that much harder to get away from.
That grating voice, those inane, pointless stories wasting part of my precious time on Earth...

If I have to choose, for TV News I guess I like Peter Jennings, I don't watch MSNBC, but maybe when Tom Brokaw leaves the news, I might watch Brian Williams.
Aren't all the anchor people for the major networks really old, like retirement age? I wish they would retire and let younger people (like Kevin Williams - I think that was his name, [a few of years ago he and Lisa McCree used to host Good Morning America, but ABC couldn't keep them going and wouldn't give them time to build ratings], so they replaced them with Charles Gibson {who retired from GMA - a few months before so Kevin could take over and for Lisa McCree - who had taken over for Joan Lunden} and Diane Sawyer, who I can not stand to watch), if they did I might watch news more.
I wish the networks, could get a morning show that I could watch,
I don't watch GMA for the reason above, I sit through the Today Show - I do like Matt Lauer, but I really dislike Katie Couric - in my opinion a Bobblehead doll would be a better choice for Co-Host, and I hate CBS morning news show.
As for Radio News - I like Buzz Burbank from the Don & Mike Show, Robin Quivers from the Howard Stern Show, and I like the Onion Radio News.

I can't stand Diane Sawyer or Connie Chung. I'm not too crazy about Dan "What's the Frequency?" Rather, either.
Favorites: Brokaw and Brian Williams
Least favorite anchors locally, (in Detroit): Bill Bonds (now retired and hawking cheap furniture in a series of lame TV and radio spots) and Rich Fisher.

I misunderstood/misread the thread, I have some who do I like in the post, but I stand by my dislike of Diane Sawyer and Katie Couric.
For TV News I will have to go for Tom Brokaw, I can't stand his voice. I choose my watchability of the news by voice, that goes for sports, traffic, and weather as well.
I don't think there is a radio news I don't like.
I bet the most liked news, would be Naked News.

Male - Dan "Blather" Rather (why don't you RETIRE already?)
Female - Connie "Wang" Chung. Who in the hell is watching her EVERY NIGHT???
Honorable mention:
Keith Morrison of "NBC's Dateline" gives me the heebie jeebies.
Ed Bradley of 60 Minutes. I don't know why, but ever since he decided to get an earring, I just get annoyed looking at him. What statement are you trying to make, Ed? "I'm 60, and an earring makes me look younger!" or "Chicks dig me now!" or "Morley was too much of a wuss to do it."

There's a new(ish) late-night female anchor on Headline News (dark hair, very attractive) who makes a REALLY annoying gesture before she reads the first line of every story, like she's some sort of cyborg loading the next story into her brainpan or something. My husband claims to not notice it but she sort of makes a sort of "here-we-go-again" gesture (where you sort of tilt your head to the side and inhale with a smirk) even if it's a really serious story. Nearly as aggravating as the smirk of that MSNBC guy. (Aaron Brown? We had a whole pit thread about him!)
Locally in the SF Bay Area there's Leslie Griffith on channel 2, who, in addition to being talentless, bleaches her hair when it's completely inappropriate for her skin tone (and black eyebrows!!!) On top of that they dress her in peach and pink colors which result in making her look completely orange. She's paired with the very coherent and professional Dennis Richmond who every so often will turn to the camera after one of her segments and give us a look that seems to say "can you believe this crap?"

I don't watch lots of news, but Paula Zahn is incompetent. There are others apparently just as incompetent on CNN, but (a) I see her the most and (b) she has the interview skills of my ferrets. No, scratch that. I think my ferrets can do a better job, plus they're cute (a prerequisite, it appears). Their attention span is rather short though, but not much more than the general public's.
I'm also not a fan of Leslie Stahl on 60 minutes.

Paula "looks like John Elway with boobs" Zahn.

I don't care for Rather or Chung, either. I'd add the snotty, condescending ABC twins, Jennings and Donaldson, to the list.
Locally, the shallow bimbo who does the "Healthwatch" segmentson Omaha's Channel 7is alternatingly annoying and amusing.
Yesterday, her daily malapropism was a real hoot! She made the following statement concerning prostate cancer surgery, " New techniques help men preserve their impotency."

My glasses aren't very clean today, so I may not have noticed the post, but I haven't seen Geraldo's name yet. Does this suggest that somebody respects him as a newscaster? If this is true, have I entered an alternative universe? And how do I get back to the real one? Or possibly find one where he and his sidekick Bill O'Reily do not exist?

Bill O'Reilly. I don't care what You "classify" him as. He's on a news channel and sometimes as I'm channel surfing I accidentally catch his show for a few seconds. Bill O'Reilly Bill O'Reilly Bill O'Reilly.

Lester Holt, he really bothers me.
I have nothing against MSNBC, they just seem to have the worst of the bunch.

Geraldo's probably not considered by most to be a newscaster, TV Time, more like a crappy, hammy reporter. :>

I can't stand Bill Hemmer from CNN. He grates on my nerves. That blank Bambi stare he has just kills me.
Now, my favorite newscaster is Thomas Robertson from Headline News. I have no idea whether or not he's good newscaster, I just know he's CUTE!!!
