Dragonboating

I've been trying to get through to the board for a week, but today's my first chance.

<ahem>
I spent last weekend in Kelowna, BC, paddling a dragonboat with my crew. We won Bronze in our division (also called bronze, so I'm sensing a theme here). Yay me! Huzzah for the Drunk'n Dragons!

Yes, you may have your beer-league baseball, but we've taken Drunken-style martial arts and adapting it for a water sport!

Our time wasn't spectacular, but it was good enough for hardware-- and my co-workers who went up on another team got nothing but ribbons, even if they had a faster time, so my medal is hanging all nice and shiny on my computer making them envious :)

I saw part of the dragonboat festival a couple of years ago, but I think it was the August long weekend. Seems awfully late in the year for it. How was the weather?

Congrats on the medal, Barbarian. I thought the Dragon Boat festival was typically in August over the long weekend, too. But maybe they do things differently in Kelowna. :D Hopefully, the weather and conditions were just right.
