And it bums me out - they always hear me comin'.

Our CFO is a shoe squeaker. He's also always on a mission when he walks down the hall. No mistaking when he's coming by!

I hate when my shoes squeak. But I have a feeling that you always are more aware of your own squeaks than others are.

That's what I'm going with, anyway.

:: squeak ::

It's to the point that people (even strangers) are commenting. And it's near impossible to sneak up on a geologist unless I go to socks.

My shoes squeak, too! And they just started. It's really irritating, because they're one of my most comfortable pair, and I can't figure out where the squeak is coming from. Hmph.

Isn't there a type of oil you can apply to the shoes that stops squeakyness?

10-04-2002, 03:53 PM
Is there?

Well we need a magic oil that stops squeakness. I hate it when my boots squeak.

Take it to AOL/IM or ICQ.

Your chat doesn't amuse nor interest the rest of us. And the proximity of all of your posts makes me wonder if felt is involved.

This is MPSIMS.

But it's not a chat room.

My new shoes squeak too, but only in the newer, cleaner building where I have class. In the older, dirtier building where my lab is, they don't squeak.

Homebrew, I understand your position, but I think these two relatively new Dopers have not truly done anything reprehensible. Other Doper couples have done it, too. Nobody jumped Opal about figuring out that Undead Dude was upstairs taking a shower. There've been others.

So, hey y'all, welcome to the board, and we do keep the private stuff low-key on the board.

My Doc Martins squeak too but only when I'm walking down stairs. Very strange.

Yeah, Ringo, I may have been a little harsh, but I had just read the reaming they gave Checkmate and I was not inclined to give them any slack. They really looked like puppets in that thread and the inanity continued here.

At least I kept it out of the Pit, where I was tempted to take them.

I once returned a pair of shoes which started squeaking, about 6 weeks after I bought them.

I told the assistant it was just plain embarrasing to walk in them, and she happily exchanged them for a new pair.

(Might start doing that every six weeks or so) ;)
