In this thread (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=14382) there is a post from 10- 15- 1999 08:43 AM, and over in the message thang is "to view this post click here". When I click "here" the person's handle still isn't displayed. So I went to my user CP to delete whoever I may have put on my ignore list but, just like I thought, there wasn't anyone on my list.

This happening to anyone else?

Not to me. The software may be getting confused since the thread is so old.

Yeah, it just happened to me in MPSIMS. To the best of my knowledge, I have never put anyone on my "ignore list". For that matter, I don't know how to put anyone on an "ignore list" so I might have put them (it seems to be two different people for me) there by accident and not realized it. But somehow I doubt it.

I just had the same thing happen when viewing an older thread. All the posts that said they were from someone on my ignore list were made by people logged in as "guest". I haven't noticed this happen before today ever, and I'm pretty sure I've looked at older threads with people logged in as "guest" before with no problems. I also have no one on my real ignore list, and never have.

Same thing happened to me in Opal's thread which Arnold has just locked - must be a software glitch with older threads.

Personally, I never put anybody on my ignore list. If I wanted to ignore other points of view, I would have joined a different board.

I'm using Opera as my browser, and when I click to read the message the poster is identified only as "guest".
