Inspired by Keith Knight's comic "The K Chronicles" (http://www.kchronicles.com/life.shtml)

Here is my recent little victory:

While waiting for my in-laws to finish shopping my little niece requested a Sponge Bob capsule figure. Capsule figure vending machines are very popular in Asia, but are getting popular here also. There was an assortment of Nickelodeon figures inside (Cat-dog, Tornberries, etc, but no Ren and Stimpy. :sigh: )

I was resigned to spend at least ten dollars in quarters to get a Sponge Bob . . . Sure enough: At the first try, I got Sponge Bob! YES!!!

So, what other little victories you have?

How about the one where 'they' said that "yeah, Trip, we're sending you to EOD school!"

I ain't recieved orders yet, but I know I'm going. May not be as popular as SpongeBob, but dammit, it's just about as exciting to me. . .

But does SpongeBob go BOOM?!?

On the first try you got the one you wanted!

I am simply in awe!

Once, at one of the claw machines that you can win Land Of Misfit Toys from, I gave my four year two quarters with directions. He got a stuffed animal on the first try. Naturally, he was hooked and he begged for another hit. I obliged. He got another stuffed animal. ( Just as hideous as the first, I might add.)

It hasn't happened since, but it is not from the lack of trying.

Everyone once in the while the planets align for me. The rest of the time, they are spinning wildly out of control. Feh.

I put 50c in a vending machine for a bag of Doritos, and got TWO bags! Woohoo! Makes up for one of the times the bag got stuck dangling from the dispenser coil and I got nothing.

I drove 2,300 miles alone recently. That's the most for me so far. A very little "victory." The K Chronicles are more interesting.

Not a victory for me, but:
We're out shopping for birthday/xmas presents for the little one a couple weeks ago.* We're in Toys'R'Us, and I just casually glance over to my right as we're walking through, and my eyes spy...

Land of Misfit Toys toys! There they are, Charlie in the Box, the train with square wheels, and the whole rest of that gang. Real Toys. The circle is now complete. I had a moment of total disconnection from reality. There was also an electronic Abominable Snowman I'd have killed to get back around age 6 or so, too. He was huge, and loud, and presumably battery powered. So, they finally made it, after all.

*I find it impossible to shop for toys without constantly muttering, "Where were these kind of toys when I was 12? This stuff is so cool!" Drives Mrs. Skeezix up a wall, some days.

I had a nasty rash for about two months. Itched all the time, even kept me up some nights.

Finally got rid of this this week.

YIPPEE!!!

Shirley Ujest, That reminded me of another good small victory I had a long time ago in Six flags:
I found I had a knack for the water balloon pistols and I was winning all the time. 5 times in total, to get a 12-inch shark plush toy!
I was proud to show it to my family, when my cousin approached and sarcastically said “oh what a cute little sharkie!! Check what I got!!" He got a life size George Jetson plush doll and an almost life-size white Bison by winning at the ring toss to the bottle (don't know the name of that)!!!

Yep, my little victory got even smaller.

I hated it him! ;)

I got a talker thrown out of the theate, during Harry Potter. The loudmoutrh was talking loudly and using profanity, so I went to the theatre manager (making me miss the Aragog scene) and had the miscreant evicted. Huzzah!

I got to drive my car to work today AND I got a spot in the office carpark (neat trick when there are 5 of us here and only 3 spaces).

My wife and I got 90% of our Christmas shopping done (we buy for 15+ people) in 2 hours, in only 2 stores. And we got this done a week before Thanksgiving...that's got to be a record.

I arranged my final semester schedule at college so that I only have classes (12 credits worth) on Mondays and Wednesdays.

I just turned in the last assignment of an extremely difficult class and found out from the professor--who never gives out A's--that I'm going to get an A.

I finally changed my username.

And I discovered that ramen noodles in cream of chicken soup is pretty darn tasty, adds some substance.

For some reason, our usually sane landlord had put wall-to-wall carpeting in the bathroom years ago.

It got pretty nasty.

Yesterday, I pulled the carpet up and threw it out.

It wasn't as hard as I thought, didn't find any dead critters underneath and no creepy-crawlies came out, either.

Glad it's done!

She kissed me last night! WOOT!

Well, as mine isn't *completely* recent, and it definitely isn't little, I'll be posting about it either later today or tomorrow, depending on how sleepy I am:)

In one day I combined two micro-spazm paranoid things of mine (most people have normal fears)into a half an hour and passed both with flying colors: My driver's liscense test and the dreaded eye exam.

And, as a bonus round, I took a good picture too.

Gigo The water pistol thingy at the carnivals reminds me of the time I had all of my cousins and me lined up to play that, and instead of hitting the target, we nailed each other with the water. Hilarity ensued.

I got my visit from the period fairy! I'm not pregnant!

Not that there was huge chance I was, but it had been 30 days since the last one and I was getting paranoid. :D

Our bathtub leaked (bad), so we called the plumber and got the company's best guy due to a cancellation. Not only that, but whe replaced our decades-old faucet and showerhead with brand-new chrome fixtures (excellent) AND fixed the aeration so that we actually get WATER PRESSURE! WOO HOO! I can actually wash my face in the bathroom, instead of the kitchen downstairs! Yeah, baby!

Ummm...

I went from not being able to go one single day without drinking to three weeks of continuous sobriety, with no desire to drink.
