How long was your longest 'dry spell'

Ok, we've all had them (or most of us have, anyway)...seeing as how I've got sex on my mind anyway, I might as well find out if it's worth feeling sorry for myself or if I'm not remotely close the longest time.


I'm currently at approximately 7.5 years (seeing as how the last time I had sex* was the weekend I graduated from college). The option has come up a couple of times - the most recent this summer, but since that was a married cow-orker, I wasn't about to do that.


*sex being defined as actual intercourse or oral sex. If you define any sexual contact as kissing/making out/whatever you want to call it, then it's been more recent. But still not recent enough.



I don't want to hear how "easy" it is for women to get some. Sure, in theory it is, but I'm not necessarily a one night stand kind of person, so that's really not an option.

Just about one year, from my graduation from college to the week before I left for Japan, when my ex-girlfriend gave me a going-away present.

After that one it was another six months until the next time, but since then the rains have been pleasantly steady.

Tenth grade was a real bummer. I moved far away to a new school, where I didn't know anybody, and I was too young to have a car and drive back to my old neighborhood. I went from the day school started, about September 1st, until Thanksgiving weekend, when I hooked up with Linda.

Baby Smith was born in July. SmithWife shut me off in mid-May. Sex resumed in September, the frequency of which has been approximately 2X/Month. The May to Sept. dry spell was the longest I have gone without sex since College Days - 1991.

my longest pre-marriage dry spell was 6 months. It was fairly voluntary. I had broken up with the guy I thought was the love of my life, and actually LOST my sex-drive (that's pretty serious for me. . .it's like losing my appetite!:))
Since I've been married, we went through about a 3 month thing, where I kept getting sick with kidney stones; it seemed like the few times during those three months that I wasn't sick, he had a sinus infection or some such! It was a long three months, made longer by the fact that we were still sleeping next to each other, cuddling, etc.

Since I became "experienced", 1 year 3 months. Before that, 28 years, 4 months, 15 days. (OK, if you rate it in terms of when I was aware of it as a dry spell or some kind of lack, that figure could probably be slashed back to 13 years.)

I'm currently working on a dry spell of about 6 days, but we have at least tonight and tomorrow night before spending several days at her parents' place.
