A friend of mine just told me that, and now I'm trying to find a site.

I hope I don't sound like a huge nerd. I'm not distraught by the rumor. haha Just curious if it is true or not!

:) Thanks!

They got nauseous seeing all their pictures in a grocery store line and spit up. Hopefully the other will soon follow.

Apparently it was Ben and Matt Damon who had the falling out. Matt is supposed to be the best man, but not now. Supposedly, J-Lo is wanting to postpone the Valentine's Day wedding.

After Labor Day she wouldn't have to wear white.

Shouldn't there be a J-Lo wedding pool?

I give the marriage (if it ever actually happens) 8 months tops.

Damn MSNBC.com! Yes, yes, Lott is stepping down, great, BUT WHAT ABOUT J. LO, DAMMIT?

Please, please let it be true.

Then he could be mine, all mine.... Oops, was that out loud?

Heard it on a local radio station. Wouldn't be the shock of all shocks if it turned out to be the case. I don't care much either way, so I'm not worried about the shock.

That's where the friend heard it too, was on the radio.

It's not that I really CARE about whether they are together, or happy or anything. haha

I just read a lot of entertainment news while I should be working, so I generally READ this sort of thing somewhere before it's on the radio. I was wondering if it's that my internet news source is behind, or if it is that the radio report was wrong/a joke.

No biggie! Just curious!

The story as reported in yesterday's London Evening Standard...

...Damon doesn't like Lopez, since he heard she'd told Affleck to spend less time with him and more with her. He persuades Affleck that they haven't been together long enough to really know each other and that the wedding is too soon. Affleck is starting to have doubts himself because he feels Lopez is making a "him or me" ultimatum. Lopez and Affleck argue, he accidentally mentions Damon's warning, she goes ballistic and asks if he wants to cancel the wedding. Already having second thoughts, he doesn't hesitate to agree.

Not very interesting, but that's the story.

Split up, no, marriage off, yes.
At least according to this site:

Actually here's a link to a website that says the story about Matt Damon is a lie:

http://www.suntimes.com/output/zwecker/cst-ftr-zp20.html

"WHAT A TRIANGLE! The story that Matt Damon is opposed to best pal Ben Affleck marrying Jennifer Lopez is being denied by everyone concerned. A story in the London Sun claimed J. Lo canceled wedding plans after learning Damon was trying to convince his fellow Oscar winner to dump Lopez.

Trust me, folks, this story is a total crock--a tale as tall as the John Hancock Center."

Thank God for Matt Damon - at last sanity may have crept back to Ben Affleck.

Here's some made up dialogue for you -

Jen - You're spending too much time with Matt Damon, it's either me or him.

Ben - Bitch, he's not only my best friend but partner. You are so selfish, working with MD - I have an OSCAR. Being with you I only get your ass, and spend way too much money.

Jen - The wedding is off!

Ben - Good, we shouldn't be getting married anyway, Miss Elizabeth Taylor - marrying everyone in sight.

I think Matt & Ben should get married and be done with it.

This is the lady who (according to what I read on the Internet Movie Database, anyway) wanted Affleck to sign a prenup agreeing to a million dollar fine if he was ever caught cheating. This from Lopez, who cheated in every married relationship she's ever been involved in.

Affleck, can't you do better than this woman?

Out of very idol curiousity, who'd she cheat with when she was with the last guy?

Why does she keep getting married? I can see how it may be a religious thing, but surely she and Affleck have already consummated?

I would loathe to be several-times-divorced while in my twenties. The woman - like so many Hollywood stars - has a dire record for long-term relationships. Why doesn't she just live with the guy and wait a few years - or until they start a family - to tie the knot?

According to this report, with Affleck himself. Though I thought I had read other reports, I can't find them right now.

wasn't it just last week in parade that jlo was interviewed, and one of the big storytags was something like "jlo tells why a third marriage should be great".

Too bad this came after she started filming Jersey Girl. If it would've happened earlier maybe she would've bolted and Smith could've gotten a respectable actress for the part.

I can't believe I know this, but my understanding is that she and the last guy split a month or two before they made it public (they were still appearing as a married couple in public after they split). So, she was seeing Affleck while technically still married, but had ended the relationship.

This is embarrassing. I'm going to start bringing my own magazines to the gym so I don't know these things in the future.

Who are these people and why are they relevant?

Oh great. They're spotted kissing and it's top story on CNN. They get engaged and the whole damn universe is consumed with their marriage. Then it's rumored that they're breaking up and all hell is breaking loose. I don't even wanna know what will happen when they get divorced. Please note that I said when rather than if. Hopefully this marriage will last more than 30 seconds, so by the time they split no one will care anymore.

Or hopefully not, for Ben's sake (I feel bad for the guy).

Hmm. Splanky, you bring up a good point. Well then I hope they break up in time to salvage Ben's poor heart, but the media doesn't jump on it like a bunch of hungry vultures. Of course, I'm asking for too much.

Sounds like a pretty good plot for a made for tv movie.

If I was MD I'd defiinitely be talking "man to man" to my bud about his impending nuptuals regardless of who the bride to be is. The best advice a buddy can give is "don't do it."

WAKE UP, BEN! IT'S A TRAP!!!

As much as I agree that this is a non-story and a sad indictment of the shallow obsessions of much of the public and, as a result, the media, I'd really honestly like to thank those posters whose entire contribution to this thread has been "who cares?". Helpful, really helpful. Yes, I know, it's tetchy, but really, do you not think the entire world has already realised just how silly a news story it is?
