Search New Threads Minus BBQ Pit?

I wish there were a search mode that showed new threads except BBQ.

I'm tired of being repulsed by thread titles like this:

Hmm... I initially included a thread title here, but it's so disgusting, and, upon preview, realized I didn't want my name anywhere near it.

Kind of ruins my day. Okay, not my entire day, but definitely skews my moment.

I think the best you can do is to search each of the other forums separately. Sorry, it's a good suggestion and would have been a big help to me on several occasions, but that's where things are, and I don't see much resource being put into this kind of modification.

It's something I've thought of in the past as well, but it's a problem that is fairly easy to work around. Usually if I'm looking for a particular thread I can narrow the possibilities down to 2 or maybe 3 forums and search them individually.

It's not a perfect solution, but here's something else to try. When you first get to the board, go straight to the Pit and hit the "Mark this forum read" link, right there by the "new thread" button. Then hit back a couple of times to get back to the main SDMB page, and hit "View new posts".

You will still have to go to the Pit once, but none of its threads will show in your new posts search.
