Osiris has a cat and understands them. Osiris sees his cat lay in the very middle of the bed. Lay in the very middle of the living room. Lay in the very middle of the hallway. And lay in the very middle of the couch. Cat's are obviously working for the aliens to reduce our productivity and render our civilization ready for plunder. It's too bad they look so cute doing it because I just don't have the heart to move her.

Does it get any better than this? This almost never happens - I went out to pick up a sandwich around noontime today to bring back to the office for lunch (even the chef-meister of the universe has to go for takeout sometimes), and while out, I took a quick spin into Tower Records and filled out a little slip for a drawing, and amazingly I just got an email saying that I've won tickets for a concert by the Chieftains and Allison Moorer. With St. Patrick's Day impending, the timing couldn't be better. I do enjoy the Chieftains music, plus I've always kind of liked Allison Moorer better than her more well known sister (Shelby Lynne).

Not to mention the nice flirtations now coming my way - girl I like the way you think.

Forgot the end quote. " There.

Guess I wont talk about the weather. Except that it has been pretty rainy here lately. And having grown up in Fern Forest I love it. Man I used to snuggle under my covers in my bed and listen to the rain pound on the aluminum roof. Closest thing to a womb since the womb. Good times.

Watcher of the Skies

Have to say that your description actually makes the rain sound great. Now hearing the Lovin' Spoonful in my head singing "You and me and rain on the roof...".

It's at the Kimmel Center and it's a concert that has been sold out.

twickster
03-14-2003, 04:00 PM
I haven't been to the Kimmel Center yet -- was going to go see Youssou N'Dour and Angelique Kidjo with my sister there next month, but apparently M. N'Dour, a Muslim, has decided touring the U.S. at this point would not be appropriate. Bummer.

Watcher of the Skies
03-14-2003, 04:34 PM
Just want to say that although I've been through the Kimmel a number of times, I've not yet seen a concert there. Too bad about Youssou N'Dour. I saw him with Peter Gabriel, Sting, Bruce, and Tracey Chapman some years ago at the Amnesty concert at JFK Stadium. Liked him enough to pick up a couple of his cds. Too bad when political/religious issues interfere with the music.

Watcher of the Skies
03-14-2003, 04:38 PM
Kidjo is cool too - a friend gave me her latest cd and it is really good. That would've been a good pairing for a concert. Oh well...

twickster
03-14-2003, 04:47 PM
Love both of 'em -- my sister and I saw Youssou N'Dour at the TLA (gad, gotta be 8 or 10 years ago) and it was amazing. I'm really, really bummed about the cancellation. I don't have Kidjo's latest, but have several of her earlier albums.

Xstatic I am to trace our relationship back to page two, but really the flirting didn't really begin until much later. Page two was just an innocent first meeting. You know, this guy was supposed to come rake my yard Wednesday (to help get it ready to put on the market. Then he called me yesterday and said he was sorry he didn't show up, but he really needed the money and would be here at 9 am to clean up my yard. The jerk didn't show again!

Zat rastard is what he is. Now I have to find someone else to clean up my yard. (Of course, that's what I said Wednesday night, too...)

Aaah...I love it when we simulpost, Q.E.D....

About that tabloid - did you notice the list of things they expose about Saddam on the cover? Was it the Weekly World News (it had to be) - my favorite was that they reveal that he hates hummus!

Wow. Hahahahahaha. Drop those over Iraq. My favotire part, the cigar and moustace.

Oh, and Sperfur, please don't hire any drifters to work on your yard.

Hate like heck to break in with another reality intrusion, but everyone who is so inclined, please give a thought or a prayer for the Tugger. Tug McGraw was just discovered to have serious brain cancer - he was not only great for baseball in general, but for the New York Mets and the Philadelphia Phillies in particular. Not to mention he's also Tim McGraw's dad.

Unless I can use the excuse that my mind is in the gutter, not the alphabet...

My response to that is "But we have a pool!"

sperfur
03-14-2003, 11:55 PM

Quick post them I'm off to bed.

Returning from the

Steamy depths of my bathroom.

Tomorrow I must get up early and scope out some of the addresses my real estate agent gave me.

Unfortunately, then I must come home and pack.

Very bummed out that I won't be able to enjoy the sunshine and 74 degree temperatures of tomorrow for more than a few hours.

Worth it, it will be, so I can't complain.

Xcept I must say one more thing - sweet dreams, darling Q.E.D.

Oh my god -- I shoulda come back online last night before going to bed.

Perhaps I could have made some progress in my flirtation with the lovely watcher, instead of leaving him alone as an audience to QED and Sperfur.

Rats! Another opportunity missed.

Sleep overtook me, though -- at least my dreams were sweetly filled with my fellow Quaker.

Watcher of the Skies

Twicks I did miss you last night - it was getting way too steamy around here. Sperfur and Q.E.D. have certainly picked up where Swampbear and Homebrew left off. Imagine how deep it would get if all four were going at it at the same time here on the ol' a-thread. Yikes!

Unfortunate to miss such an opportunity -- very exhausting week at work. I went up early to try to finish the last 30 pages in my book and didn't come close to making it.

Wuss that I am, I was asleep by 10:30.

X-rated banter aside -- how come you're willing to go to Missouri for a dopefest but not to Philly?:(

Watcher of the Skies
03-15-2003, 10:11 AM
You know, it just might be the pool. Or maybe the skinnydipping. No on second thought it's definitely not the skinnydipping. But seriously, although I certainly wouldn't rule out attending a local 'fest, it's way easier to go to an imaginary one in Missouri, especially when one is drunk on all the shameless flirtation going on. Road trip! ;)
