Question for ColdFire

Hey ColdFire, theres a really cool prgram called megaHAL (see my sig) have you heard of it? Its an Eliza like chat bot that learns based on any text input.

With your permission, I would like to train it off of say the last 6 months of your posts, and allow people on the board to ask it questions.

I picked you because you are the coolest mod I've "met" so far (other than maybe UncleBeers).

I have not done this yet, it is only an idea, like I said, I'm asking you're permission before I do anything at all.

Also, what would be the SDMB policy be on an experiment like this? Any other mods or users if you would like me to do this, please tell me.

What to do, what to do?

Well, first, biohazard, I'd suggest emailing Coldfire directly. This has implications not only for him personally, but for the SDMB in terms of using his/our intellectual property to create such a thing. Then there's the issue of whether we'd be happy to see it on the boards.

He can help you with all of those things.

This is really more an ATMB thing, but since it's going to require some private emails anyway, I think I'll just go ahead and close it here and let you email Coldfire.

Sounds pretty interesting to me (as just a guy, not a mod). Good luck!
