My best friend and I are nearly done making The All-Mighty Cruising Tape of Bad, Old School, Pseudo-Ghetto, Wannabe-Rap, and soon will have it transferred to CD. However, before we get this done, we want to make sure we've included all the worthy songs.

To be on this, the song must have been a huge hit which is now laughed at, recorded in the late 80's to early 90's, and it's to be one of those so-bad-it's-the-coolest-thing-in-the-world type of things.

Thus far we have:
1. "Ice Ice Baby" -- Vanilla Ice
2. "Baby Got Back" -- Sir Mix-A-Lot
3. "Girl You Know It's True" -- Milli Vanilli
4. "Blame It On The Rain" -- Milli Vanilli
5. "Hangin' Tough" -- New Kids On The Block
6. "The Right Stuff" -- New Kids On The Block
7. "Informer" -- Snow
8. "Rico Suave" -- Geraldo
9. "2 Legit 2 Quit" -- MC Hammer
10. "Can't Touch This" -- MC Hammer
11. "Jump" -- Kris Kross

Anyone have any other suggestions for this? Oh, and if you've got #7 or #9 in your possession, would it be possible for me to borrow the tape/CD/whatever so I can record them? Thanks.

Or, better yet, write awful rap songs yourself:

Lanna, I have both CDs in question, and can hook you up with MP3s of both. You'll have to be creative in getting it to casette if you don't have a CD burner.

Some suggestions, all of which I have on hand....sadly.
[list]
Wreckx-N-Effect - Rump Shaker
K7 - Come Baby Come
Onyx - Slam
Naughty By Nature - O.P.P. (also up for nomination Ghetto Bastard, Hip Hop Hurray
DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince - Parents Just Don't Understand
Rob Base & DJ E-Z Rock - It Takes Two
Two Live Crew - Me So Horny (also The Fuck Shop, Face Down Ass Up
House of Pain - Jump Around
Young MC - Bust a Move
Digital Underground - The Humpty Dance

I could probably go on. I don't think you can have two songs by the same guys on the same CD, it just queers the whole deal. Not sure why you have New Kids and Milli Vanilli on there if you want wanna-be rap. They are plenty bad though. Some of the ones above are still fun songs, but they aren't taken seriously.

I could include Snoop Doggy Dogg, Dr Dre, and LL Cool J above, but I still like their stuff.

Biz Markie (the Diabolical one...) with "You say He's Just a Friend.."

Does anyone remember who sang "B-Girls"? I can't remember, but the refrain will be firmly imbedded in my memory bank for all eternity - as well as consciously running through my mind for the rest of the day now.

Between your list and Omni's, Lanna, you've got most of the non-hardcore, fun hip-hop songs. Here's a couple more that I personally like:

[list]
Paperboy-Ditty
Anything by Kid 'N' Play
Coolio-Rollin' with the Homies(you said it was a cruising tape, right?)

courage, we took Kyuden Hiruma back.
His loss is great, but so is the gift his suffering brought.

Dammit, Omni. Just contaminate the whole thread with you code dropping.

Please don't do this, in the name of all that does not suck. We can reduce nuclear weapons, ban chemical and biological warfare, might even bring back some of the rain forest and control El Nino. I don't think this should be let loose again on an unprotected planet.

Man, that sounds like a good idea.

It reminds me of the CD called Monster Ballads that I see the infomercial for all the time.

Rappin Duke lyrics...

So you think you're bad, with your rap
Well I'll tell ya pilgrim I started the crap
When you were in diapers and wetting the sheets
I was at the Ponderosa rapping to the beat

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

Sure I rustled some cattle and tended the sheep
But my main concern was rapping to the beat
I don't bother nobody I'm a real nice guy, kinda
laid back like a, dead fly

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

I'm talkin, here and now
Later for the cattle and rustlin the cow
If I had a chance to do a repeat
You can bet your sweet dippy I'd be rappin to the beat

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

Que pasa amigos? Not a *pasa* I see
Two hundred punks well what ya gonna do?
I got two six shooters that'll see me through
That's, twelve dead...
and a hundred and eighty-eight pallbearers

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

What I do on your grave won't pass for flowers either

Now Kurtis Blow, Run-D.M.C.
You haven't heard of rap, til ya heard it from me
I'm the baddest rapper in history
And there'll be no more, after me

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

Meanwhile, back at the ranch
Santa Barbera that is
Swimmin pools, and movie stars
Well the first thing ya know ol' Ron's the President
The kinfolk said, "Ron move away from there"
Said, "In The White House is where you wanna be"
So he loaded up the Lincoln and he moved to D.C.

Washington, that is
Politicians taking a sip
Foreign dignitaries taking a trip
High tax and plenty Cadillacs

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

Now ya see me in my movies, doin my thing
But deep in my heart, I've wanted to sing
"Wayyyy dowwwn, upon the swannnny riverrrrrr
Farrrr, farrr awayyy
Titwillow, titwillow, titwillow"
I don't think, that's your style
But I'll tell ya pilgrim, I'm versatile
Aretha Franklin, Aretha Franklin
Aretha Franklin let me rock ya let me rock ya Aretha Franklin
Let me rock ya Aretha Franklin that's all I wanna do
Aretha Franklinnnnnn

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

I'm feeelin the groove now pilgrim
Party, over here
Party, over there
There's nothin to it, the way we do it
Woop woop!
East coast, West coast
Texas

Every time I put on pants
I tell ya pilgrim I wanna dance
I put a quarter, in the juke'
Then I commence, to doin the Duke

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

It's pretty easy, if you can see
Just move your arms kinda freely
Do a pause, and take a step
And just make sure the beat is kept

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

I was at the Ponderosa rappin to the beat
Tryin to cool off from the desert heat
I discovered somethin, really neat
The Duke has moves, with his feet

Da haahh... da haahh
Da haahh... da haahh

I won plenty of ladies, with my charms
But they like me the most for the moves of my arms

Woahhh... woahhh

I'm gonna rap, in the East
Gonna rap, in the West
I'll show ya pilgrim, who's the best
Nothin to it, the way we do it
Skiddely-be-bop, we-bop, Scooby Doo
Guess what America we love you

Da hahhhh, da hahhhh, da hahhhh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh

Everybody

Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh
Da haahh, da haahh
Da ha-hahh ha-hahh haahh...

Can't find artist info though

Two words:

Tone Loc.

You're seriously missing some Wild Thing or Funky Cold Medina action. And trust me, I know from music that's so bad it's good.

Ok, here's the situation
My parents went away for a weeks vacation
And they left the keys to the brand new Porsce
Would they mind?..Umm..Well, of course the would.

I'll just take it for a little spin
and maybe show it off to a couple of friends
I'll just cruise around the neighborhood
Well maybe I shouldn't
Yeah, of course I should

Pay attention here's the thick of the plot
I pulled up to the corner at the end of my block
and that's when I saw this beasutiful girly girl walkin'
I picked up my car phone to perpatrate like I was talkin'

You should have seen this girls bodily deminsions
I honked my horn just to get her attention
She said
"Was that for me?"
I said "Yeah"
She said "Why?"
I said "Come on and take a ride with a hellova guy"

She said how do I know you're not sick,
You could be some deranged lunatic
I said come on toots, My name is the Prince
besides would a lunatic have a porsce like this?

She agree and we were on our way
She was looking very good
but so was I
I must say
WORD
We hit McDonalds, pulled into the drive
we ordered 2 big mac's and 2 large fries with cokes

She kicked her shoes off, onto the floor
and said "Drive fast speed turns me on"
She put her hand on my leg, I put my foot on the gas
We almost got whiplash we took off so fast

The sun roof was open, the music was high
and the girls hand was slowly moving up my thigh
She had opened up three buttons on her shirt so far,
I guess that's why I didn't notice that police car

We're doing 90 in my mom's new Porsce,
And to make this long story short,
When the cop pulled me over I was scared as hell,
I said "I don't have a license but I drive very well officer"

And that's all I remember...not proof reading it, it took me too long to type it from memeory....and I think I may even still have the tapes....

I remember one year my momma took me school shoppin,
It was me, my mom, my brotha, oh my poppa,
And My little sister all hopped in the car
And we headed downtown to the gallery mall...

Can't remember the rest of that verse. Thankfully.
