Can you identify this 1980s bestseller?

From my description of the (paperback) cover:

It featured a middle-aged (or so) balding man (Dr. Phil-ish looking, maybe, but I recall lighter hair) with a big grin (or maybe just a big smile) on his face.

I seem to recall this might have been one of the sort of self-help books like "Winning through Intimidation" or "I'm OK--You're OK."

Sounds like the cover of one of Elron Hubbard's books. I think they all had the same image on them.
