I am wondering just how effective the "protein style" burgers are in keeping to a no-carb diet.
For anyone not familiar with the concept (I'm not sure how many places do this - In n Out is the only place I've seen), "protein style" just does away with the bun and wraps the burger in a big wad of lettuce. At least, that's what it looks like...I'm also not sure if there are any other modifications going on there (hence the post :)).
Also, I prefer my In n Out burgers "animal style". Is this modification kosher for a no-carb diet? Heh - I'm not sure what exactly it means, I only know it tastes damn good.
Lastly, how many burgers are too much? I've read that potatoes are a no-no for a no-carb diet, so there go the french fries. If I substitute more burgers for the rest of the meal, am I doing myself a disservice? One plan I read indicated that an *unlimited* amount of approved no-carb foods could be eaten while on the diet.
At first I thought that you'd have to be in complete denial to think that simply losing the bun constitutes going on a diet, but if you can eat In n Out and lose weight, sign me up!
Thanks...
