Did George Harrison play guitar on Badfinger's "Day After Day"? I've googled a bit, and I've found that he produced it, but not whether he played guitar or not.

Apparently. According to this page (http://www.hollywoodandvine.com/badfinger/bf_bio.html):
There were similar accolades for the follow-up 45 'Day After Day', another deeply personal Pete Ham song. In 1971, Melody Maker reckoned it was 'one of those occasional productions that make the business of pop singles worthwhile. It should make No. 1.' In America, it did just that* and earned Badfinger a gold disc after selling a million copies. George Harrison produced the record, and when the band first played it to him at Abbey Road studios he was so impressed he asked, 'Do you mind if I play on this?'. You can hear George's trademark slide guitar, duetting with Pete's, on the song's solo.
*According to several other sites, the song peaked at number four.

Thanks, that's exactly what I'd figured, but couldn't find any confirmation of it.
