"Tackling the real issues"

I'd rather drink lukewarm rat urine than hear this phrase one more time. It bothers me. I guess this is not really worthy of a pit thread, but I had to make it known that I hate that phrase. It's stupid, cliched and not even appropriate since local news stations and papers don't "tackle real issues." I also hate when people take things to "the next level." That is all.

Well, I, for one, salute you for running this up the flagpole, to see who salutes. It's long overdue that someone should probe beneath the surface, and I welcome the opportunity to interface with you on these issues. Because, our people are our assets, and we need to empower them to leverage their knowledge, thereby enabling them to work smarter, not harder. And, when we've completed our program of right-sizing, utilizing a multiplex approach, including near-shore outsourcing, we will be positioned for success. In the meantime, it is what it is, and we need all hands on deck to weather the current economic conditions.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to take this off-line. Where's that barf bag?

Har har har. :D Y'know, even though all of those cheesy buzz words are a bunch of crap, none of them really bother me. Pro-active has the potential to get on my nerves, but right now is just too stupid to annoy me. Makes me laugh, actually. Maybe if I heard it more, it'd start to bug me. DO NOT start using it over and over in this thread. I mean if I heard it more from people who weren't doing it on purpose.

What's my incentivization to terminate use of this highly useful phrase. You have provided me with no stimulus to engage this issue. Yes.
Recently I've heard:
"value" as in "value added" as in "our product does something useful, but I don't know what";
"leverage" as in "I am clueless about what you actually do, so saying 'leverage' lets you imagine levers"(??);
"we provide solutions..." as in "I am clueless about what we actually do";
"buy-in" as in "conform" so that I don't have to listen to you.
And so on. Sad but true.

Oh Lord, yes. I hear from my boss at least once a month some of these:

"It's all hands on deck, we can't afford vacations right now"

This is the way the idiots sound smart. They invent jargon so they don't have to learn real lingo. Think about it. They don't want to admit that they do nothing, so they "provide solutions."
