I just got home from 5 weeks in The Meadows, a rehab in Arizona.

Man, I feel damned good. I haven't had a drink in over 6 weeks. I like being sober.

Anyway, I'm back. WOO HOO! Six weeks without a computer really sucked but getting straight was worth it.

Hey sleestak, do you care to discuss what led you to rehab(other than the obvious of course)? How much did you drink? How much did you really screw up?

I don't mean to pry, I'm just trying to decide whether or not I need help or can I actually kick the habit on my own.

Anything you want to share will be greatly appreciated(any of you). Sorry for the slight hijack...

Six weeks without a computer....maaaaan, another reason to never do drugs or booze! That's just harsh!

Congrats to you!

You have the strength within you. You are stronger than the liquor.

Congrats!

BTW, being totally ignorant, if this is out of line, just shoot me, how does it work if you are in rehab and you have a job? Did you take an extended leave? Again, I don't mean to pry...It's just a mental tumbleweed...

Being an alcoholic and a massive geek I don't know if I'm more impressed by the alcohol abstinance or the lack of a computer for the six weeks. :) Seriously, though, good luck, Eric. It gradually gets better from here on in.

Congrats! Welcome to the Board's recovering community! Ms. Robyn started a 12-step group for us over at Yahoo -- I'm sure she'll be along to provide a link.

Always happy to help another friend of Bill's.

You may find us here (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/SDMB_12_Steppers/"). It's not an especially active group, but there is some great recovery. (Y'all need to start posting a little more often!)

Congratulations on getting out of rehab, sleestak, and I hope we'll see you over at Yahoo.
