So tell us what shows you never miss, that nobody else you know watches.
Sure, lots of people watch The Simpsons, The Sopranos, or whatever, but what shows do you think are absolutely great while all your friends won't even watch one episode.
I love The Screen Savers and Call for Help on TechTV. I think more people would watch it if they got TechTV.
I never miss Good Eats on Food TV. Alton Brown is so cool, he combines cooking and science with just a touch of humor.
Lately I've started watching Iron Chef. People just give me weird looks when they walk past the TV and see what's on.

Well, I am the only person (other than my husband, who turned me onto it) I know that never, ever misses a single episode of "The Shield". I just started watching this past season, however. Great show. I absolutely love it.
Tuesday nights have a whole new outlook for me now! Other than washing dishes or cleaning catboxes, of course.

on Food TV: "Ultimate Kitchens" and "Cooking Light"
I know for a fact I was the only person EVER who watched that Love Boat remake when it was on a couple of years back (that starred Robert Urich.) What can I say, I had a crush on the kid who played his son, lol. It really wasn't that bad. Kinda miss it, actually.
I'm sure there's dozens more I can't think of now.

Not so much now, nowadays I tend to watch the usual stuff that everyone watches, but when I was younger I was the only person I knew who watched the cartoon 'Cities of Gold'.

Girlfriends and Red Hot Red Carpet.
All sitcoms, actually. I love sitcoms, even bad ones and I admit it.

"Murder in Mind", "Jonathan Creek" and "Waking the Dead" on BBC America. I think I've seen every episode of each at least once.

On January 1st, the local PBS station ran a marathon of an Australian mockumentary called The Games, all 25 episodes. I hope they do it again next year so I can tape it.

I don't know if these count, but I watch reruns of old "Ally McBeal" episodes in the afternoon on FX. I missed it entirely the first time around and I don't even know if it's still on the air.

Whenever people have the "great modern cartoons not for kids" chat, I always feel like nobody else watched The Critic (or catches it in reruns). I find that surprising and a little sad.

All those nature/space documentaries on Discovery. It's not something I'd desperately go out of my way to watch, but I do enjoy them when they're on.

I am a huge fan of The Critic as well. Do you know if it is available on DVD yet? And if not, are there any plans to release it on DVD?

Not that you know me, but I wish at times the simpsons had been cancelled by now and 6 of it's seasons given to the critic to play with.
It wouldn't really be the same now, considering the woman who played Doris Died. But I catch it every monday morning.
"Oh, sure, Blame the guy with the bucket of grease".
"You have no idea how hard it was to teach the bunnies to hug".
Though in the shockwave cartoons, they imply that he married(and divorced) Alice sometime after the show ended.

I watched that when I was a kid. Did they ever find the cities of gold? It's been a long time. Great theme song.

Um... no. Not in America, not here either. I went to a couple of Stargate conventions last year, and some of the guests had been to Gatecon - the American (well, Canadian, but mostly frequented by Americans) convention. The ticket numbers were up in the thousands. A lot of fun, and very popular show.
Whoever mentioned Jonathan Creek - I love that show, but IMHO it's been getting worse since Caroline Quentin left. She was the perfect foil, and the episodes involving her always seemed to also involve some sort of bizarre subplot, also involving her - for example, one of the episodes has an entirely unrelated subplot about she accidentally agrees to host a nudists' meeting. It's brilliant.

I'm the only one I know who watches Judge Mathis. I think it's hilarious the way he mocks and makes fun of people when he thinks they're BSing him.
There was one show where two guys got into a fight. First guy sues second guy for hitting him from behind and breaking his tooth. Second guy countersues, saying the first guy bruised his bicep.
Mathis lays into the first guy, shouting "HOW did this guy HIT YOU FROM BEHIND and BREAK YO TOOTH? Were his arms MADE OUTTA RUBBER?" First guy tells him it can be done, he's a black belt in Tai Chi and knows things like that can happen. Mathis responds, "Don't tell me that! Don't tell me that! You mean you a BLACK BELT in TAE BO and this guy BEAT YOU UP? YOU JUST DESTROYED YO COMPANY!"
Second guy describes how the first guy bruised his bicep and provides a picture of the bruise. "YOU MEAN TO TELL ME YOU TWO STARTED JUKIN' AND JIVIN' AND HAD YO FISTS UP and then he....(plip) GRABS YO ARM?" He had both guys looking like idiots. I love the way he just cuts through the BS and gets to the crux of the matter.

Fox News Watch - the weekend journalism analysis show on FNC. One of the few rational, and relatively level headed panel discussion shows on cable news. If more of the programming on FNC was like this instead of the nighttime "news commentary" shows, Geraldo ego trip/facetime sessions, or that Fox & Friends morning trainwreck I could come closer to respecting the channel.

One of my brothers is a fan, now that I think about it. And my other brother watches it with his wife so they can laugh at us. They just don't get it.

I bet I'm the big winner here. Every night I religeously (tee hee!) watch Benny Hinn on the Inspiration Channel or whatever it's called. He's a "faith healer" that "heals" people of their various maladies by touching their face or waving at them or whatever which leads them to fall down and convulse. He's such a prick; he wears a white gui (? the martial arts shirt/coat ) and is constantly encouraging the audience to "Give the lort a mighty hand" and to praise "Jaysus".
He's coming to Greenville in two weeks from today and I'm probably going to go. I want to see the trickery first hand.

Me TOO! Dontcha just love Food 911! Especially the one's where Tyler is around anything alcoholic? His nose gets redder and his eyes more bleary throughout the episode. Just Love It.

30-minute Meals is good - but I avoid Emeril, Bobby, Wolfgand, and Martha at all costs.:D

I'm the only one I know who religously watches HBO's The Wire . I think it may be the best crime drama I've ever seen, yet only a few critics and I seem to know it. Sadly, you have to see every episode, so you'll be lost coming in late.
It also has a terrible, terrible name. The Wire indeed. All those creative types at HBO and that's the best they can do?
Pretty much everything I watch, since most/all of my friends don't watch TV. Snobby bastards. If it weren't for the SDMB couch potato brigade I would think that I was the only one in the world who watches anything that I do.
One that I think even the SDMBCPB has missed out on is the World Poker Tour on The Travel Channel. High-stakes Texas no-limit hold 'em poker tournaments featuring world-class players, commentary by, of all people, Vince Van Patten. I love how he and his co-host talk in poker slang and then little pop-up boxes appear translating from poker to English. Sometimes, though, Vince stumps the band, like last night he described a J-5 as the "Motown hand." Jacks 'n' 5...Jackson Five.

This is so embarrassing.
I think I'm one of like ten people on the planet who devotedly tuned into the Glen Larson turkey Automan back in the early 80's. There were only thirteen episodes produced; the last one was never broadcast, such a hurry the network was in to cancel it. I actually shelled out money for shooting scripts and the theme song sheet music.
I'll just go back to my rock now. Wow, it's so nice and cool and comfy under here.

I got the impression from seeing ads for in the TVGuide for the first time recently that it only started airing about a week ago; I see from TV Tome that it's already been on a year! OTOH, I don't get HBO, so I haven't heard of it from commercials or anything similar.
I feel like the only one watching The District. And(confining only to mean "amongst folks on the SD") I feel like the only Everwood watcher, too.

Well, your brother may not get it but I do. I love Scrubs. Sometimes I think Dr. Cox is that little voice inside my head. If I wasn't so skilled at biting my tongue for the sake of manners, professionalism or whatever other excuse we use for not saying what we're really thinking, I'd probably sound a lot like him. And the janitor, [who if I'm not mistaken does not have a name] is just priceless!

Does anybody else watch Lucky on FX. I think it's one of the funniest things on TV lately. I admit the whole talking to himself in the mirror thing is a bit tired, but John Corbett manages to pull it off.
I also love Ed, but very few people I've spoken to about it have ever watched it.

You are not alone. I am absolutely addicted to that show. It is amazing how dramatic watching poker can be. You have to get to the understanding that at this level of play the element of luck is greatly reduced.
I met Andy Bloch a couple of weeks ago. He is a regular on the tour and was in a couple of episodes so far this season. Let me tell you the people who play this game are bright, to say the least. Andy has a law degree from Harvard and a Masters from MIT. He uses game theory to find an edge over the other players.
Please keep watching. If this show doesn't get renewed for a second season I will be distraught.

I watch Scrubs and consider it my favorite show on network TV. I just wish they hadn't preempted it duriing May Sweeps for extra episodes of Friends, then when they finally brought it back tonight it was a rerun, from last season I think.
Lucky I enjoy but it's not required viewing for me. I usually catch it during one of the replays on weekends, since I know it will be better than the usual dreck on TV then. Corbett is very good, as is Ever Carradine.

Absolutely Fabulous. The funniest show on t.v. BBC America. It is about two alocholic British women with lots of money and very bad taste. A must see. Another show on BBC America is Father Ted. Both shows are guaranteed for some good laughs.

Hmm, lets see, I watch a lot of cartoons:
Home Movies
Freakazoid
Undergrads
Dexter's Lab
And my all-time favourite, Spongebob Squarepants!
I also watch a lot of court shows. I like Texas Justice because of the way the judge completely tears apart people who are obviously lying. Same Judge Mathis and The Peoples' Court.
And I never, ever, ever miss Junkyward Wars. What a great show it is.

I'm the only one I know who still watches:
Mama's Family
Saved by the bell
Clerks:The cartoon
Dilbert
Insomniac with Dave attell
* a weird Question & Answer show on the history channel
Home Movies and Aqua Teen Hunger Force . The bizarre thing is, I know a few people who watch Adult Swim on cartoon network, but they generally seem unaware of these two shows.
