View Full Version : Who watched Tom Arnold host the Late Show last night?

Dave took the night off for some reason or another, so he invited Tom Arnold to fill in for him last night.
I'd rather have seen a rerun. Tom's okay is very small dose - say, 2-3 minutes - but not as the host of the whole show. I was desperately hoping someone in the audience to whip out a tranquilizer gun and put him down, but it was not to be.
Dave, if you have to take a night off again, please don't invite this spastic freak to host. Try to get Elvis Costello, he did a helluva job while you were out sick.

Was that not a repeat of one of the shows when Dave was out with the shingles? I flipped by it last night and saw the interview with that Czech model and I would swear I've seen it before.
In any case, you're right. Tom Arnold wasn't a very good host. He does crack me up when he's a guest, though.
Hard to imagine a worst host. The guy just has so many obvious disorders going on.
Why a guest host on a Friday? Monday is the traditional day.

Agreed. What was up with his voice? Sounded like a flippin' wrestling commentator... (Also agreed about Elvis Costello. He did really well).
I originally thought it was a rerun as well, but I don't remember Tom hosting the show whilst Dave was shingled.

I just finished reading a book, so I thought I'd check out what ol' Dave was up to. It only took thirty seconds to make me turn off the tv again.
Didn't Tom Arnold host with someone else when Dave was out? I thought I noticed that on a promo one night.

No that wasn't a rerun. Dave had made a big deal on Thursday that he'd be taking Friday off. I didn't watch Friday's show. Tom Arnold always sounds like he is in his manic phase and just snorted a pound and a half of marching powder.

I wonder if Dave is going to start doing the Carson thing, taking a day a week off, and regular holidays, and having lots of co-hosts?
I actually think that would be a good idea. It's nice variety, and it gives us exposure to a lot of people who deserve it. Remember, the original Tonight Show 'discovered' that Dave Letterman could host a talk show by having him repeatedly fill in as guest host.

As soon as we saw that it wasn't Dave hosting, we turned it off. Tom Arnold annoys me.
