View Full Version : Gratitude

While I might not always agree with the actions of the Administration of this board, it seems to me that they put up with a lot of shit. They might not always respond in the best way, but they often do. So I'd just like to express my gratitude for providing such a wonderful site dedicated to the free and easy exchange of ideas. It seems to me that a lot of people are taking the SDMB for granted.
I realize that this makes me a huge brown-noser. However, I have no motive other tham my want to express my appreciation.

Hey! I like this site too!
I've been to a couple of other message boards, and this one has the most intelligent and articulate people of all the ones I've visited.
Thank you, Chicago Reader, and all the paid employees and unpaid volunteers that help to make this happen!

Well, as one of the people roasting Ed Zotti's ass over in the Pit the past few days, I can hardly be accused of brown-nosing. But I still recognize that the admins and mods here do a great deal to keep this place humming along, and I deeply appreciate all that.
This is a great place to hang out online, and I'd miss it tremendously if it weren't here. Kudos to all (yes, even Ed) who do the work to keep it happening.

Well, I just spent an hour composing a similar sentiment: http://boards.straightdope.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000890.html
Now, not only do I look like a brown noser, I also look like a copycat. I guess we're finally at the "kiss and makeup" phase of this latest crisis.

Everything BigDaddyD said.
And it's not brown-nosing if you're sincere.

I feel a group hug coming on :::: hug ::::
Seriously, I agree with you guys, course it would be nice to hug you too!
I've learned that if someone says something unkind about me, I must live so that no one will believe it.

I'd go for that, ultress! Unfortunately, one of the downsides of the Internet is that you're lucky if the people you're talking to are even in the same time zone... :(

Time zone? Sometimes, Firefly, I wonder if some of the folk on the internet are even on the same planet!

Hey, I'm on the same planet as everyone else - just in a parallel space-time continuum. :)
