But I had to put it somewhere.
Ladies and Gentlemen, I have the great honor to present to you: our very own Mr. & Mrs. Skipmagic, aka SkipMagic & auntie em .
Their disappearance from the boards was noted last week, and not only by myself. Let it be known: They were basking at my own version of heaven, the Bellagio in Las Vegas, surrounded by friends, family and love.
So please, raise your glasses and join me in toasting Skip & auntie em . May they always know the true happiness and joy that a wonderful marriage can bring.

Congratulations you crazy kids! May you have a lifetime of happiness and love (along with the occasional mystery just to keep it spicy).

Oh, sorry I forgot:
I have also been advised that pics of the event are forthcoming. Viewer discretion is advised (some nudie photos!!)
Congratulations, Skip and auntie!

Correction: We have friends with money. My friend and her husband pretty much planned the whole thing, and sprung for the hotel to boot! :D
Thanks for the good wishes, everyone! It's been a week already, and so far I don't have any plans to leave him.
Life is good. ;)

Oh how I love selective quoting:D
::runs naked through ... wait, no, bad idea::
Yeah, yeah, congrats an'all'at:) We're still trying to figure out what *state* we're getting married in.

VERY bad idea--Skip is lightning fast with that camera!

May I recommend Nevada? It kicks ass. Our officiant was a French guy named Jean Claude. I don't have any plans to leave him, either.
(BTW, your gift for selective quoting could land you a stellar job as a top-notch journalist these days . . . :D )

I'm on a honeymoon of my own, of sorts, so I have an inkling of how y'all feel.

Congrats to you too, then! Actually, the part of our "honeymoon" that I liked best was when we got back home (on July 3) and spent the next three days asleep. ;)

Congratulations! Um, did you remember to tell your boss that you'd be out of town?

Heh. Yeah, Finagle, I pretty much blurted out the whole secret plan when we were still in a panic over MC (who emailed yesterday to ask that her paycheck be deposited into her bank account--Boss said that he'd do it as soon as he heard from her either in person or by phone, so then she started phoning friends and asking them to call here and ask for her check).
He still breathed a sigh of relief, though, when I actually showed up at the office yesterday morning. ;)

Happy Wedding!!
Did MC make you a quilt? or has she still not shown her face?
Regardless, I wish you every happiness!

How can we be happy without a quilt? I ask you.
Nonetheless, she seems absolutely unwilling to face my boss. She has repeatedly tried to get her paycheck via some chicken-shit means, and my boss has repeatedly informed her that only two avenues will end in cold hard cash: either she speaks to him on the phone, or she speaks to him in person.
After that, we don't hear anything for awhile.
Then she tries some other chicken-shit means to get her money.
I say if she still hasn't grown the balls to face him (at least by phone) by next week, my boss gives the check to ME as a wedding gift.
Think he'll go for it?

HMMMMmmm Dunno - probably depends on what her salary was in ratio to how much he was willing to spend on a gift. So, maybe not.
But if he asks you what gift you want... "Just to see MC's smiling face, one last time."
Think he'll go for that??

Hey, wait a second...
Who got married?
Razzle-frazzle, mumble-mumble, I'm always the last to know...
And, yes, as mentioned, pictures will be up soon. Even the nudie ones.
Thanks for the congrats, folks! Let me back up what auntie em said earlier: it's been a week and so far I don't plan on leaving me, either.

<gasp> I just checked out the photo page, and I must say, you two make a beautiful couple.
Whenever I look at wedding photos I get very, very nervous, and wistful, remembering my own wedding day, lo, these fourteen years ago. Please cherish your memories, and thank you for posting the lovely pictures. Take care of each other.
PS: Leave it to Auntie Em to wear red on her wedding day. Where are the ruby slippers?

Crikey, you're gorgeous, the pair of you!
Congratulations and happy weddedness.
I'm going to post this on the ol' UnaBoard for the benefit of folks over there.

Thanks, all! auntie em is indeed gorgeous, which is the only reason (... well, aside from wanting to be the first to know--even before everyone on the SDMB--what really happened to her missing co-worker when she finally comes back; being married to auntie em has its advantages) I'm keeping her. ;)
Me, I'm just pink and balding. And the only reason I'm saddened by the balding bit is that it's a damn shame when a redhead loses his hair. It's not fair, I tell you. Being a redheaded minority is hard enough, but nowadays I'm frequently being accused of "passing" for a blonde.
Where's the love?
Tansu: thanks for starting a thread on the UnaBoard! I had just logged on to it last night when my browser crashed. At that point, I just gave up and went to bed, so I'm glad that you did that. :)

Okay, auntie em, which of those cute little girls is the one who decided to run off and scare the living crap out of everybody?
Skip, that's a hell of a rock you sprung for. You better take good care of her, buddy, or answer to me.

Congratulations! And auntie em, wearing a red dress to your wedding, you harlot! (Just kidding! Ouch! Quit throwing missing cow-orkers at me!:D) You both looked fabulous!
Seriously, congratulations, and may all the best come to you in the future.

The blonde girl, on the right--that's the little devil (a cute urchin, sure, but a devil nonetheless) who freaked us all out. I suppose we ought to extend her some forgiveness, however, seeing as her mom created that wonderful cake for us. Yum.

I loved staring at her that night, a big ol' grin on my face as I kept saying, "Hey, I'm married to you!"
Yeah. I'm whipped. :)

Huh. And here she promised me last time that I would be handling the whip tonight.
No longer, I fear, can I trust auntie em's word when she's holding a whip in one hand, a glass of the fermented grape juice in the other, and her tongue firmly planted in her...
Cheek.

It was all auntie em's idea to share the pictures, Queen Tonya. She ordered me to introduce the rest of the world to a picture of her, a bathtub, some skin, and a verrry attractive shower cap.
"I just feel pretty in it," she said. Who was I to argue? After all, she holds that damnable whip.
