View Full Version : Womens fascination with mens butts

Being only able to see through a mans perspective, what is the female fascination with the male behind? What makes it attractive and why? A female rear end is attractive but (no pun intended) is probably not the primary visual target for a male's gaze. I could understand a well endowed, well muscled, manicured, clean smelling, deep voiced male being attractive but I still don't see where the rump comes in. I need to have some of the female teeming millions chime in and explain this fascination.

Note: I just tried to post this note but got a page cannot be displayed error. I will try again. If I end up with two posts I apologise.

IANAF ... but I would guess it's b/c it's the one erogenous zone that's visible even when men are wearing clothing. Unlike guys looking at women, who also have those wonderful breasts to focus on.

I don't know who told you guys that a man's primary focus are breasts, but most guys I know are always looking at women's backsides. Haven't you seen guys turning around after a woman with a great figure walks by?

I have wondered this before, also. It isn't like women make use of a man's butt (like I would).

I'm much more likely to be checking out a girl's ass than her boobs...

The wife says a muscled butt is indicative of good thrusting power during intercourse, and this may go back to primal days in selecting good mates for continuing the species. Possibly heard from Desmond Morris, prominent zoologist and anthropologist.

I've heard that explanation too... but:rolleyes: I don't buy it. What the hell is the use of having good "thrusting power" anyways? Powerful ass strokes don't make babies or help defend the clan or anything useful; in fact it's the most useless physical activity I can think of for survival and reproduction. Even a good flea-picking ability in a man would do a gal more good. All's a male needs to do is to dribble his half of the baby recipe out at the right time; I don't think we were concerned about the quality of a lay back in our primal days.

Hmmm, I'll bet a 400lb couch potato could give a more powerful thrust than a 140lb gymnast... well the first one anyways... but that one stroke like 400psi ladies!!

More than likely it's one of those things that give the overall impression of youth and health that we are drawn towards despite having no clue what the actual reasoning is. (I didn't have a clue that I was programmed to automatically judge the ratio of a woman's waist to hips in order to evaluate her child-bearing capabilities until some grey-haired old scientist said so :D)

A well-muscled butt is indicative of good overall strength, which is important for all the reasons that thrusting ability might not be.

On the other hand, better thrusting power means that the woman is more likely to orgasm, which helps move the sperm towards her uterus. So maybe it does matter.

When my BF and I first met, the second thing we noticed was each other's butt, as we passed each other. So it's also the case with 2 guys.

"It isn't like women make use of a man's butt (like I would)."

They don't? From my experience, most women find it pretty handy for getting a firm grip and a bit of steering.

i agree schplebordnik,

but not all women are fascinated with the butt of a male,
but it does look in a good in a nice pair of pants.
kinda like the way a male perhaps thinks of a females breasts,
high up and firm. not a flat ass
it just looks nicer, I love looking at eyes, and lips.
myself......yummy

OK. One explanation, but not the one I was thinking of. :D

They make nice hand holds. And the thrusting thing brings up some interesting mental images, which, now that it's been mentioned, will occurr to women after reading this thread and looking at butts.

Huh?

I've always thought it was one example of women emasculating themselves in order to kind of "show up" the men who are checking them out. I never thought there was any genuine interest in boys' backsides.

(I'm a girl, by the way)

Women are emasculating themselves? Ouch. Sounds painful.

Are YOU a prominent zoologist and anthropologist? I didn't THINK so.

Are YOU my wife? I didn't THINK so.

I will take the word of these two very, very smart people, thankyewveddymuch.

Ahem. Thank you, honey. I believe the theory is that a well-muscled behind is first off an indicator of good health. Secondly, contrary to the opinions of some, thrusting power does indeed help with baby-making, since being able to deliver the payload farther into the vagina makes it more likely that the sperm will find its way to the egg. You can certainly get a woman pregnant without deep penetration, but it's a lot less efficient. Plus, there is some evidence, as ultrafilter mentioned, that the female orgasm assists in moving the sperm along its way. So, no, I wouldn't call that useless.

YOU're kidding, right, UncleBill? The "muscled butt is indicative of good thrusting power during intercourse" has got to be the most lame-assed (ha!) evolutionary biological explanation, ever.

YOUR post said it was possibly "heard from Desmond Morris, prominent zoologist and anthropologist," so I take it, "heard from Dribbling Moron, permanent onanist and anthropomorphist," is also a possibility?
And mmmiiikkkeee did provide some arguments to support his point of view, so forgive me if I say, I'll take structured arguments over unsupported hearsay, any day, thankyewveddymuch.

On preview, Geobabe, you got a cite?

For the record, I have a fantastic butt.

I'm happy for you and your butt, but PLEASE wash it.

I contend (sans cite) that the male butt AROUSES women sexually. Makes them horny, randy, hot to trot, etc... This would link to SEX. Strong shoulders, good hair, having all your teeth; these attributes are ATTRACTIVE, but generally not AROUSING, even tough they are indicators of good health and youth.

If the sight of something stirs a women's loins, I believe it flips a switch that has to do with intercourse.

(You want a cite? YOU try googling "male buttocks thrusting" and see what comes up!)

Yes, yes, yes, I agree with all of that, but admit it, you've moved the bloody goal-posts.

And yes, yes, yes, I did try Googling, it's gonna take me some time to get through all these links.
