I'm not going to go into a massive diatribe on why I think this is wrong, I believe the issue is quite obvious. All I want is to see what the general consensus is, so....
Appropriate or not??

I don't see why the issue is obvious, though it doesn't sound like that great of a game. Could you say what specific problems you have with it?

They are using real footage. people risked their actual lives in the missions in which the footage was taken. Also being able to hunt down Saddam's sons yourselves? Bascially I think it just trivializes the entire conflict. It's too soon. in 20 years or whatever maybe, but not yet.

Hmm, I just think it would be utterly boring. Massive firepower, total air dominance and overwhelming technological superiority against a second rate competitor that has already been beaten once.
Give me a wargame where I can be Saddam Hussein and actually try to fight with guerilla tactics instead of putting a giant 'shoot here' on my troops. Or maybe a SimCountry game where I try to rebuild Iraq....
