Good News! Phred Felp's website seems to be down!

It's a nasty habit, I know, but about once a day I look in on ol' Rev."God Hates Fags" website.

Very late Thursday I got a "The page cannot be displayed" advisory. The same thing happened yesterday and just now. It's been nearly 48 hours.

Could it really be? Is the nasty cleric off the web?

It might be that it's under a denial of service attack. In the Columbia, MO dopefest thread, I posted a few weeks ago that his site seemed to be down, but later it loaded about halfway before pooping out. Either way, I hope www.godhatesphelps.com gets registered as a domain name soon.

I'm familiar with the concept of "know thine enemy," but isn't once a day more knowledge of Fred Phelps than anyone would want to have?

It's not working for me. I'm not one to condone denial of service attacks if that is the cause, but if he voluntarily took the site down, it would most assuredly be a very good thing.

Is anyone else unable to load the anti-Phelps site God Hates Fundies (http://www.godhatesfundies.com/)? I know the person who runs it is a poster here, but I forget who. Is it just me or has something happened to the site?

I'm glad that the Phelps site is down. I find lunatics like Jack Chick amusing in a twisted sort of way, but Phelps is just... blech

It's been loading really slow the past few weeks, and now it gives me a "Server cannot be found" error. Phelps is probably just having server problems.

Or it could be the evil God-hating fag pimps :)

I was able to load it earlier today, although it was VERY slow. It had a message like "if the page is loading very slowly visit our mirror at (wherever)" so I suppose they are having network problems (as opposed to just the mental problems they usually have).

Well, it's been down for the last day again. I'd noticed that even when it was up(excuse the expression!) that it wasn't being maintained or added to. Used to be you could find a new flyer or picketing site almost every day. But from the time it came back to last night, no new material was added, or very little.

One can only hope.
