I once had a car moo at me.
How easy is it to get a horn that sounds like something different?
How many different sounds can you get?

I once had a car horn that had dozens and dozens of different sounds. It was attached to the regular horn, but there were speakers in the back of the vehicle. You pressed a certain combination of buttons to get a particular tune, including Dixie.

Try J.C. Whitney catalog, the classic provider of tacky automobile products. They used to have the Dixie horn, and the "Aaaaooogah" type Model T horns, as well as 110 db. dual air-horn types more often found on 18 wheelers.

I'm wondering if some states have laws to prohibit joke horns. When needed as a warning in an emergency they might not effect the appropriate reaction, but rather cause confusion.

Anyone know of any such laws in any states?

They are illegal in Australia (though in the 1970s our milkman had a mooing truck). A damn shame. I'd like a horn that plays La Cucaracha, and also that voice system so I could tell arseholes off, or just play with people's minds. I've also fantasized about having a red LED scrolling banner display in my back window with a keyboard mounted up front. Maybe a few shortcut keys for commonly used messages.

That's exactly where I bought my horn, too. Neato catalog they have there.
