I for one would LOVE to see Ewan McGregor visit Springfield. He could be a long lost cousin or whatever of Groundskeeper Willy and they could get in a fight about kilts or Scotland or whatever.

Well, tony blair isn't ever going to be in it, not his image, anyway (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/reviews/3234778.stm)

No more guest stars! I hate it when they base an episode on guest stars! Arrrghhh!
But if they must, I think it would be pretty funny if their "guest star" was one of the regular voice actors on the show.
Bart: Hey, you're famous cartoon voice actor Dan Castanella!
Dan: Hey, how are ya?
Homer: You sound familiar. Have we met?
Dan: No.

John Cleese. Or any of the Pythons for that matter
or...
Stephen Fry, Stephen Fry!!
Or Alan Rickman!
I'd better stop, before I'm getting out of control. I don't know why this has happened - I don't usually enjoy when The Simpsons has guest stars all that much. Oh well....

Eric Idle made an appearance last year as an obnoxious documentary filmmaker. Not that I'd complain if the others showed up.
Alan Rickman was on King of the Hill a few years ago, playing the head of a Renaissance Faire. Not the Simpsons, but at least it's in the FOX Cartoon world. Since they did a gag with "Judi Dench's Fish and Chips" this past week, I guess she won't be making an appearance any time soon. Oh well.
It's not like they're missing a lot of people after 300+ episodes. ;) Gregg Allman? (Family Guy already did it, actually. ;))
Yumblie, there was a joke late last season about Mafia boss Don Castellaneta.

I think that would be hilarious! True genius.

Ooh! Goodie! I'll look forward to that. (Chances are that hasn't been screened yet here. Either that or I just missed it - but we usually are a far way behind whatever any particular show's 'country of origin' is.)

Yup. KOTH stopped screening on regular TV here after two seasons I think, but I managed to catch this one on cable!
Judi Dench's Fish & Chips - haven't encountered that gag yet - but I'll look forward to it!

Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails and Lisa Simpson having a Saxophone Playing Contest.
(OK... I've had WAY too little sleep and the caffiene has yet to kick in. That suggestion was the best/wierdest I could do...)

My vote would be . . . Nobody.
Way too many pointless guest stars already.
