Our consciousnesses are all, like, individual atoms in a gigantic ball - but we're outside the ball. And the ball is time.

In my collegel Psych 101 lecture, the professer demonstrated this for the whole auditorium full of students. He had a big 12" spinning spiral, and he told us to stare at the center, and then when he said "now" to look at his face.
Heh! The entire class went "whoa" at once.
Try it. First load this face (http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/n/d/ndk107/realbobSM.JPG) into a new browser window, and then on top of that, open the page linked to from the OP (for faces, the spiral works better in reverse, and maybe a little faster)
Stare at the center for 30 seconds, then bring the face picture to the foreground.
Trippy, eh?
Now do it with porn!

Not too bad. Reminds of how the subway floors looked back in the old days. :D

I remember seeing the spiral thingy in Omni Magazine back in the late 70's, but you had to cut it out and put it on your turntable.

If you play it backwards it's a hymn to Satan...

Hey! I figured something slightly cool... stare for 30s, then SHUT your eyes really hard! Or does it only work with me?

I saw fireworks, but in reverse... like an implosion or something. And only for a second.

I just realized how great it would be to look at this while under the influence of N2O. It'd be too loud to fill up a balloon and do that stuff here right now (parents are sleeping), so if anyone happens to have any psychedelic experiences that most certainly are not condoned or encouraged in any way by this post (nor are any other illegal acts condoned or encouraged by this post or myself), could they tell us about it? There must be some really interesting possibilities here.

Am I the only for who can't get his web browser to display this? Opera doesn't show the spiral at all, and IE has the spiral but it doesn't rotate.

It works great for me in Opera on WinXP, IE on WinXP, and IE on MacOSX.

I tried it today with the aid of a certain nitrogen & oxygen mixture, with one of my friends (she was using the same certain nitrogen & oxygen mixture). I didn't get anything off the first couple hits (first was a botched recycling attempt; second was a new balloon and good hit, but since I hadn't gotten a real hit in a little while I was surprised at it and coughed it out before I could hold it), and when I got the third hit (which knocked me into next week) I was too focused on how tripped out I was to pay attention to the spiral or to the Beach Boys music playing. Sorry.
My friend, BTW, said she didn't look at the spiral enough while under the influence to notice anything either.

Must have been regular air. Regular air has nitrogen and oxygen.
