I heard that LucasArts gave up its rights to Sam and Max. So my question is, who know owns it? Steve Purcell?
Also, does anyone know where you can get Sam and Max merchandise?
Thanks

well, i dont think he owns it anymore.. otherwise he would have done something else with it..
i thought lucasarts owned it.. but it probably fell into some copyright loophole.. it sucks because it was a great game!

I believe he still does own S&M, even though he no longer works at LA.
From the
Sam and Max FAQ (http://samandmax.mixnmojo.com/faq.html):
Will there ever be a sequel to "Hit the Road?"
Of course, no definate answer to that either, but it is highly unlikely. LucasArts no longer holds any rights to Sam & Max, and Steve Purcell no longer works at LucasArts, so for there to be a sequel, another company would have to purchase the rights, LucasArts would have to purchase them again (and apparent;y they have no interest in doing so), or Steve Purcell would have to do a lot of programming.
If you are really really interested there are many (http://dir.yahoo.com/Entertainment/Comics_and_Animation/Comic_Books/Titles/Sam___Max/) Sam and Max websites still being updated. And Steve's email addy is stevepurcell@hotmail.com. He's supposedly really nice.

There's a new Monkey Island game coming out, and it is being promoted as being 'from the same team who brought you 'Sam & Max'.
I wondered if that was a hint of things to come, but probably not.

Sure have. It looks a bit... stiff and expressionless. But their last 3D adventure, Grim Fandango, was really popular, so I'd say they do a swell job this time too.
Though I think I'd prefer another 2D effort like Curse.

So does anyone know where you can get a Sam and Max T-shirt? I heard that there is only one T-shirt. The "booga, booga" Max shirt.
Please help all you intelligent people.
Thanks.

Try e-bay if you haven't already. Then try Comic stores, which will be some work but will be your best bet. The Sam and Max comics continue to have a fairly devoted cult following.

I've checked on Ebay too! I couldn't find it.
My favorite quote is
