How do you deep fry a turkey? Other than the requisite pot, what temp. and how many minutes per lb? Any suggested spices and how to apply and at what stage?

A friend of mine did this a few weeks ago at a holiday party-injected marinades, and it was very good. Took a little over an hour, IIRC.

I did it once, in my driveway. A gravel driveway covered with snow.
Be prepared for a mess. And if you have dogs, kids running around, you will need to 'guard' the deep fryer. I ended up buiding a quick fence around mine. And still had to keep an eye on it.
When I was done, I ended up building a fire (wood) on the drive to get rid of all the oil that splattered out.
