View Full Version : What's that song at the end of Lost in Translation?

I saw this film last night, and it was superb (despite being sat right at the front of the theatre and getting a sore neck from staring up at the screen..)

Anyway, what is the fantastic song that plays over the closing scene of the film? All fuzzed-up guitars, really beautiful, I think the lyrics went "I'll be your plastic toy...".

I stayed to watch the closing credits but I couldn't see what it might be.

Never mind, I found it (I think).

Just Like Honey by The Jesus and Mary Chain. If I can find an MP3 of it then I'll be sure.

No need to track down a download, it's definitely Just Like Honey. It's off of their excellent seminal album Psychocandy. Think Beach Boys surf music crossed with a chainsaw.

I have tracked one down and am listening as I type. Might have to order the album too...

I also really liked their album "Automatic" (I think that's what it's called). The song "Head On" rules.

The Pixies do a great cover of "Head On," on Trompe Le Monde.

Essential J&MC in the correct order:

1. Psychocandy
2. Darklands
3. 21 Singles
4. Honey's Dead
5. Automatic
6. Barbed Wire Kisses
7. John Peel Sessions

Stoned & Dethroned and Munki are pretty worthless if you own the Singles compilation.

I lived in Tokyo for a year, and watching Lost in Translation was such a good rendition.... It was just like being there. I'd even been up in that 44th floor bar Bill Murray always hung out in, drinking whiskey. What a flashback!

I have nothing to add except I just saw this movie last night and it was one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Great movie. I bought the soundtrack right after seeing it.
