Per Arnold Winkelried's 4/1/02 post in ``FAQ - technical issues,'' I was looking for the vBcode page to find out how to post links. However, the link for the vBcode page seems to bring up the smilies page.

Replace "<" and ">" with "[" and "]"

No it doesn't. It brings up this page: http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/misc.php?do=bbcode You're clicking the wrong link. Click the one that says "vB code is on" immediately above the one that says smilies.
