Be reasonable, things you eventually plan to have.Like I waited about 2 years for this one.
I managed to get one of those things, a CD recorder, but Iøm still waiting for the tax refund that inspired this spending.

I honestly eventually plan to have a Ferrari 512 BB, preferably a carburettor version (the 1976-1981 series). But as it looks now, that might take at least 7 or 8 years.

My own helicopter. Right now, I've been looking at Scheizer/Hughes 269/300 series. http://pw1.netcom.com/~heliboy/n61413crop.jpg Cheapest I've found is a 1961 Hughes 269A for $55,000. A new Schweizer 300CB costs around $200,000. Some day...
(Of course, I could always win the lottery. I wonder how much a Blackhawk costs?)

Um a new walkman (one of those neat Sony ones) soon as I get my first paycheck. (my old one has gone fubar.. it did good for me for 5 years and put up through a helluva a lot though)
My drivers lisence and a car. (soon as I can put away enough to pay for it all myself)
and contacts (though my new glasses are really neat)

I want a Palm Pilot.
I want Antonio Banderas.

I want an alphasmart. They're like little word processors, but weight 2 lbs and are roughly the size of a 3 ring binder. AND they store up to 60 pages of text. Hook that puppy up to your desk top at the end of the day. Total cost? $200. A bit more cost effective than a lap top.
I love my new (as of April) apartment. I do. But I HATE the wood panelling that is in my livingroom and bedroom. I'd like to take it down, put up drywall and paint it. However, I rent, and I'm not gonna sink money into a rental.
I'd like to get another Siamese. My cat now is used to living with other kitties, and is very lonely. But I am a cat snob, and adore the Siamese personality. Total cost? $400.
I'd like to quit my job and go to school full time. But I am NOT moving out of my fabulous (although wood-paneled) apartment.) So I'd need $5400 a year to be able to just pay rent. I figure I could work part time for the rest of my expenses. That's about it.

I want a wearable computer. A really good one, with excellent processor and LOADS of ram and a huge hd. And a decent HUD. I want to be able to play GAMES on this thing. And still sew it into my clothes. *grin*

I want a Winnebago. A big one. I want to drive it all over the country, and sleep whenever and wherever the hell I want to. The price for this fabulous item, configured as I would like? $120k.
Barring that, I would be happy with the supercharger I want for my truck.

I'd like a baritone saxophone.
I could probably get an old beater for something like $1,500. But I'd like one that you don't need to formulate an array of alternate fingerings to play because it leaks in fifteen different places.
(I just had my tenor sax overhauled and it has done WONDERS for my ego. For months I sat around despondently thinking "I'm a shitty sax player." Nuts. It was the horn. NOW, the damn thing does everything but run across the floor to me when I whistle for it. I can set it down in the corner and snap my fingers and it'll give me six choruses of "Scrapple from the Apple.")
I don't want or need a NEW baritone saxophone. A nice used horn, 40-80 years old (they KNEW how to make instruments back then, by cracky), in good shape, would suit me fine. That'll probably set me back around 2,500-3,000 bucks.

A BMW Z3, or even better, a Z8. <sigh> I'm actually fully able to buy the former (and probably the latter), but I'm too cheap to go out and do it. I don't need money, I need a brain overhaul that will allow me to spend it without continually thinking "It's not practical. I could be investing this $$ and making a bunch off of it. I could be giving more to charity." bleah bleah bleah.
<off to go look at the BMW web page yet again....>

I want the most impossible thing in the world: An affordable apartment in San Francisco.
Thanks to the internet boom the prices for housing in the Bay Area is CRAZY! $2000 a month for a one bedroom in a nice area is a steal. A tenderloin apartment (the crummy part of town) is hovering around $900 a month.
I just want my own place. I live in a shared house with a bunch of other dot-communists and I'm sick of everybody drinking my milk.
About a millions things for the house...furniture for the porch, a new comforter for the bed, pictures for the walls, more decorations in general, area rugs, and a surfboard for my husband!

If you stop by between 10 and 6 I'll hook you up. :)
Now, as for what I want but can't afford.
- A stereo for my car.
- My own computer.
- New contacts.
- To get those pictures I had blown-up, framed.
- To go to Calgary and visit my Shebo.

Lasik surgery. That's the one big, big thing I would love to have right now but I just cannot justify the $4400 price tag to myself. I need a new car, mine is on it's last legs, but I do not need fixed up eyeballs... but I soooo want to not wear contacts or glasses anymore.....

A new airplane. Sorry, you asked.
We have a little 4-seater Beech Baron right now but "test flew" a Queen Air several months ago; seats 8 people and is so much nicer to fly in, with all the luxuries (except stewardess).

Oh, I want a speed boat. I love the warm weather, and there is nothing better than hanging out on a boat all day. I would water ski and drink beer all day long! (Of course, I would have a designated driver for my boat!)
You all are invited once I get it!!

I would love to be able to afford to landscape my yard the way I want, cut some trees down, get some sun into the place. I'd love a power washer to use on my house so that it would always look like it was just painted.
I have the vehicle I want, have a home I'm happy with. I guess that's about all I'd want. Oh, and I'd like to have the money to have someone come in and paint the whole inside for me. I did it myself about 2 years ago but I'm ready for a change.

A car, any car, preferably one with an engine and a radio.
I am getting my liscence this summer (I know, I am aged, but I can't drive for shit :)) and it looks like my mom and I will sharing her 88 Oldsmobile. I know I am going to feel like one bad-ass chick cruising around in that road hog. I might talk her into getting some dice for the rear view mirror!
Also, I'd really like for someone to pay off my credit card bill of $320. I will be able to do it in about a month, but the damn interest is kicking my ass.
Good luck with Antonio, Canthearya. I'm still waiting for George Clooney. Someday!

Most of the things I want that money can buy, I could afford right now. It's just a question of (a) choosing which things I want, and (b) saving some for the proverbial rainy day.
The only thing I'd really, really like to buy that I couldn't buy right this minute, I'm unlikely to ever be able to afford: I'd love to own the Baltimore Orioles. (Yes, the baseball team.)

A new car. I don't want anything fancy, just a new car.
A house. A beautiful old one, with hardwood floors, a wraparound porch, huge bedrooms and a big fenced in back yard.
Furniture. A house full of antique furniture.

As for me, I would love to have a car. But there's no way that I could afford the gas and the insurance right now, not to mention actually BUYING the car. But it would be so convenient. I hate taking the bus.

No, but for entirely different reasons. :D
Well, dammit, I just bought a summer suit I can't afford . . . Got sucked into the gravitational pull of J. Peterman's on my lunch hour and saw this GORGEOUS wheat linen suit (you guys can tune out here), c1912, with an ankle-length skirt and hip-length flared jacket, beautiful detail work. It was half-price, bit I still shouldn't have splurged (now I'm having an over-spending panic attack).
But it really is gorgeous and makes me look like Irene Castle . . .

I always wondered who wants those. They pay 35-45$ a night for hookups. I think it's less trouble to use motels. But I don't spend weeks in the outdoors fishing and stuff.

I want a private jet. Like a Learjet or a Citation.
On the more-realistically-affordable front, I'd also like to get a great big 1000 Troy ounce ingot of silver. That's, like, about $5000 worth of silver at the current bullion price; it would weigh around 80 pounds. I wouldn't have to worry about it being stolen because no one could lift it. ;) Mmmmmm, silverrrr....

The Erotica picture disc. It was on the shelves for four hours before it was pulled, and then about half of them were destroyed. Collectors sell them for $3,500 each.

Of course you need a new car first, but I had my eyes fixed and it's fantastic!!!
I had it done back before lasik was approved in the US, so I had PRK. I used to be about 20/400 in each eye. Now, my right eye is 20/30 and my left is 20/20. Awesome. I flushed my contacts right down the toilet in celebration!
The best thing about it is that I can wake up and see the alarm clock...across the room! Joy!
That said, if I could afford it, I would like a houseful of kids. I want to adopt lots of kids from all over the world who need stability and love. Hubby and I can afford 3-4 kids (providing we put them through college) but I really want more like 10. I suppose we could have that many, but I'd like for them all to have the benefit of college. Plus, Hubby isn't so keen on more than two. I'll be able to convince him on three, but more than that and I haven't a chance.

Realistically, though, I want:
Lasik for my eyes. Last checked, I have astigmatism in both eyes, and I'm about 45/20, but that was three years ago. By now I'm probably 60/20. ::sigh::
A 1989 convertible Z24 5-spd, w/headers, glass-packs, no cat, twin turbo, awd, bored and stroked to 3.4L, and an titanium reinforced floorplan. Oooh, yeah.
An in-dash mp3 player and 10 disc changer.
MB Quart components, front and rear, for said car.
A Cove 10" DVC for the trunk.
A "General Lee" paint job for said car.
A decklid from a 92 Z with a spoiler.
200 disc Sony DVD changer.
300 disc Sony CD changer.
A Sony ES reciever.
Widescreen (16x9), digital, HD TV of at least 55".
Full complement of Sony speakers (5.1 channel) for said setup.
About $1000 for new CDs and DVDs.

RTFIREFLY - so you are a big O's fan? Me too! I think Cal and I were meant to be together...I met him once for three seconds and man, they were three beautiful seconds.
I would buy them all in a heartbeat!
Think we have a chance at the penant this year? I should point out that I am still trying to recover from the '96 series in which that stupid NY brat BROKE THE RULES AND CHEATED and we got screwed!
One time last spring, we were losing so badly that my mom and I managed to sneak down to the third row b/c all the rich people with good seats left. Brady was warming up RIGHT in front of me. I was used to being way back in the nasty seats, so I screamed at the top of my lungs "BRADY I LOVE YOU BABY!!" and he turned around and gave me this look. My mom was like, "He can hear you dope!"
Wow, that was some Hijack.
I really want a new goldfish, since Johnny Castle just died last week. :(

The one thing I want most in this world right now is not an option for me, and no, I'm not telling. It has no price tag.
After that will of course be Mr Bear coming home next week!!! I can hardly wait! Anyone want 2 teens for about a week??? ;) I love you, honey.
For all of you who want Lasik: you are complaining? My prescription is currently -7.00 in one eye, and -7.25 in the other. Legal definition of blind is -4.00. I passed that when I was 16. I am so nearsighted that without my glasses, I have to get within about 2" of the mirror to see to put makeup on; and I mean the magnifying one. But, right now, it is doubtful I will ever be able to afford it. And, I'd feel too guilty anyway at spending that kind of money just on me to do it. :(
On a happier note, the 2 most affordable things I want next are to get my master shower redone(currently down to bare studs and concrete subfloor), and to go to Idaho in July to visit a dear friend with my kids. :p :) :D

My optha just recommended that I have that, actually. But the price tag here is 3300. Perhaps you should shop around? :)
Of course, I've no idea whether insurance will help cover it at all. I hope so. It'd save them money in the long run - no more contacts, glasses, prescription sunglasses, etc etc etc. Apparently, I'm a 'prime candidate' - they did all the tests yesterday when I went in.

I should start thinking about this, since I got a bomb-ass summer job offer yesterday (running a summer program for high school kids interested in health care) that's going to drop an unexpected 3 or 4 grand on me. (Living on the meager student stipends that I am, that's a metric shitload of money.)
I'd like a big-ass set of Calphalon cookware. This will probably be the first thing I come up with. I can't decide between the hard-anodized or the professional nonstick, though.
I'd like a new guitar. I don't even want the $10,000 Martin--I'll be happy with a Takamine, black with the cutaway like the one Springsteen plays.
I'd like the whole set of Michael Ammar magic videos.
In more of the long-term, I'd love to have a house in the Keys with a little dock out back for my boat.
Dr. J
I have everything I want...well my own private learjet would be nice.

Yeah, 3 car garage would be nice. But I'd settle for 2 1/2, so I wouldn't have to park so carefully on the side with the lawn mower.
