View Full Version : Disco-Dancing Monkeys and Charlie's Angels

I woke up while having a dream this morning - and it was about Charlie's Angels. We had seen a commercial last night for the behind-the-scenes movie airing about Charlie's Angels last night, and I'm guessing that's where it came from. I dreamed that they were after this bad guy, and there was a monkey - I was dreaming that the monkey was disco dancing.
I woke up in hysterics - I woke up laughing so hard that I woke mr.avabeth up and scared the hell out of him (he thought I was having trouble breathing!) - but I have never, ever woken up laughing, and the intensity of the laughter was killing me. I kept seeing the monkey disco dancing, and could NOT stop laughing. Once I explained to him what it was, he was laughing, too.
Has anyone ever woken up laughing this hard? I've woken up crying before, but not laughing.

Has anyone ever woken up laughing this hard? I've woken up crying before, but not laughing. I've laughed myself awake twice. The first one would be too boring for Dopers because it involves knowing someone IRL to appreciate the funny juxtaposition. The second...
I dreamt I was the goalie for the Canadian Womens' Hockey Team. I'm 5'4", tiny compared to most hockey players.
In the dream our hokey game was THE first competition of THE first event of the winter olympics. Unlike normal Olympics, the stands were dark and the ice was lit with spotlights, more like how you'd see in ice dancing shows like Muppets on Ice.
There was a huge pile-up an center ice. I mean huge. ALL the players were in a heap! Only the Other Goalie and I weren't in the pile.... We gazed across the ice and looked into each others eyes in a moment of supreme dramatic tension.
The puck came loose! Everyone else was still in a heap. The puck was closer to the Other Goalie. I charged out of the crease, racing for the puck. So did the Other Goalie, who was so much closer. I had no hope. But then...
A player's stick came sliding out from the pile-up at centre ice, sluggishly twirling towards me. The Other Golaie was almost at the puck. I hit the wayward stick with a mighty slapshot. The stick cleared the fallen players, hit the puck which ricocheted passed the Other Goalie into the net!
And the crowd went wild!. Not only was it THE first goal, of THE first game, of THE first event -- it was also the most ridiculous and stupid goal ever!
That's not what made me laugh to waking.
I dreamt that the team and I went out to a sports bar to celebrate our victory. The bar, of course, had a TV set. As the news achors giggled and chortled at the ridiculousness of it, I saw a slow motion replay as a "sports highlight".
I saw myself -- the smallest hockey player ever, dwarfed by my immense goalie pads -- hit that stupid goal, in frame-by-frame slow motion.
I burst out laughing, which shook me awake.

I didn't actually wake myself up laughing, but I did dream once that I was in an episode of "Friends", and it was hysterically funny. Can't remember any of it, of course, but apparently I write great sit-coms in my dreams.
