Regarding Cristi's family...

For those who would like to know what's been going on within our family, you can find my posts concerning this at:

This is a messageboard pertaining to the Fender Telecaster guitar. Some of the posts are on the main board, but I've agreed to posts any updates on the "Bad Dog Cafe" board at the same site (which is the board for non-Telecaster related issues).

If you do decide to post a message, please read the rules first. There is no profanity allowed, and no flaming. There are many wonderful folks there, and some are celebrities. Keep in mind also that they want to keep the main board Telecaster related.

So, my dear wifes friends - come on over and meet MY friends! I'm sorry that some of the posts pertaining to our situation is somewhat alarming, but all will be worked out smoothly here very soon.

Hi Tim, and thank you for posting updates for us. I know the people who were close to Cristi will take great comfort in knowing that your kids are doing well.

However, I have a bit of unsolicited advice, if you don't mind. I read a couple of the recent threads you posted at the above-referenced message board and, given that a legal battle is about to ensue, I'd like to recommend that you ask the administrators to remove and/or hide any threads where you've posted about the situation. I know it's cathartic to be able to share your concerns and your fears with friends who can give you moral support. We here all know how real these communities of friends are, even if they're expressed primarily as pixels on a screen.

However, trust me when I tell you that you stand a chance that Cristi's family will tell their attorney about your impending divorce and her relationship with someone on a message board. They may know it by name, or it could be very easily found. A good attorney will find your posts here, find where you've linked to posts there, and find a way to use everything you've said against you. I won't outline how, but suffice it to say that it's never wise to make public statements in writing when you have a legal case pending. I know it sucks, but I would recommend confining all of your correspondence with friends to private instant messages, and then only with truly trusted friends at that. Anything posted publicly should be limited to things like, "The kids are adjusting well and are excited to be coming home," and leave it at that.
