On page 2 of "Uh, Tuba, About bandwidth stealing." (http://boards.straightdope.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/000652-2.html), manhattan saidThufferinThuccotash! You made superscripts! How? Tell me and my science guys in GQ and you will be a God there!
As explained in that thread, though HTML is currently disallowed in posts, you can still use codes to make special characters in your post. For example, I can include a copyright symbol by typing in © which will show up as ©. Below is a list of the "special" characters that are not immediately obvious from the keyboard. Some have "name codes", and some don't, so I separated those in the list to make it more readable.
For a complete list of characters, see Webmonkey Reference: Special Characters (http://hotwired.lycos.com/webmonkey/reference/special_characters/)
Some of these characters may not be displayed properly depending on your web browser (i.e. which web browser or what version of the browser.)
