View Full Version : You rule the world...what do YOU want for your title?

Ranchoth

The setup is simple...you've become the unquestioned lord and master of the Earth.

Now, the hard part...what do you want for your TITLE? The classic "Emperor" (Or "Empress")? Something moderne, yet subtly scary, like "Chancellor"? Old-fashioned "King" or "Queen"?

Heck, you can even make up a term of your own. ("Technopope"?) I just ask that you share it with the rest of us, here.

As for me...right now, I'm torn between "First Chairman" or "Lord Regent." Depending on if I want my rule to look semi-"legitimate," or if I'd rather go all out and wear full medieval armor, with a hat made out of somebody's skull.

So...any thoughts?

I'll go with Mark Twain. When I'm in charge, call me "The Boss."

I'd keep them all guessing.

One week it would be "Lord High Dominator", next week "Supreme Grandmaster", "Archchancellor", "Patrician" or even "Whizgoolabang"

Of course, anyone guessing wrong as to my proper title would be slowly tortured until dead. Quickly tortured if I'm in a good mood.

Consult my book "Evil Despoting for Fun and Profit" for more inforamation.

"The Man" would be cool. Or for terrifying fear, "Dictator Perpetuum", "Grand Imperator", or "The Final Judge". What would be cool is devising all the descriptions after your name, like "Defender of the Faith" and "Protector of Mexico", except totally awesome like "Eater of Worlds", "rex homo sapiens" or "THE ASSASSIN AGAINST WHOM NO LOCK
WOULD HOLD".

A friend of mine actually had business cards printed up that said "High Queen of the Universe."

Although I wouldn't say no to Grand Moff.

My first thought was "Overlord." But I think that might create some dissention in the ranks.

Of course those dissenting will be boiled in oil, so maybe the title fits.

Naw, you all are approaching this wrong. I'd really mess with the heads of the serfs (i.e., the rest of the population of earth).

I'd be known as "That Asshole". You would address me as "Hey, Asshole". If you didn't address me with enough disdain in your voice, I would have you tortured. If you actually tried to address me in a polite fashion, the penalty would be death. If my vast network of secret spies ever heard you referring to me other than "that asshole" or a similar derogatory term, the penalty would be death.

Yes, that will do nicely. Bwa-ha-ha-ha-haa!!

This is a good thread. It gives you all a chance to practice addressing your future ruler. It is important to address me correctly, or else you'll be taken out and shot...er....I mean...a...sent to happy, fun, non-purging camps (this is why I'll be ruler).

I'd cook up a ridiculously long list of titles, and force the entire popluation to memorize all of them. Whoever refused, or changed some of the titles would be slowly whipped to death with scented bootlaces. (Shamelessly stolen from Terry Pratchett in one of his earliest Discworld books)

Praetor.

It's an old Roman title, not one of particular power so far as I know, but I like how it looks and how it sounds. Plus, it's the title of the sovereign of the Romulan Star Empire and since I'm such a Rihannsu fanboy, I would want that to be my title. :D

I think I'd like to be known as "Curmudgeon in Chief".

I do however plan to be a benevolent dictator.

I'll be open to persuasion, but when people question my leadership they'd better have their facts together or they'll be banned from my presence. Muck up really bad and I'll ban you to the other side of the Earth. Since I'll be supreme ruler and travelling all the time, this may entail some inconvenience. The other side of the Earth may not be the same place (or even the same hemisphere) from day to day.

You're welcome.

I'd like Supreme Lightness of Being. I can be addressed by Your Brilliance.
Sorry, already taken by Okawa Ryuho, a cult leader here in Japan. Although his offical title is El Cantare he is called the Supreme Lightness and the Light of the Universe. Now, that's a title I want on my name card. I bet it gets you into the best clubs anywhere. On March 23, 1981, Ryuho Okawa attained enlightenment. He received great revelations one after another from various angels of light, and realized his true identity was that of El Cantare, whose mission is the salvation of all humanity.

For SanguineSpider, I suggest The Arachnocrat.

Personally, I like the classic Mikado.

To use the full title (with as many secondary and courtesy titles as I can think of):
The Supremely Exalted Scuba_Ben, Mikado of Earth, Emperor of the United States, Protector of Mexico, Maharaja, Earl Marshal, Grand Duke of Pfennig Ha'pfennig, Prince of Egypt, Nasi shel Y'rushlayim, Baronet of Ruddigore, KCB, KCVO, KE3OM, QRT.
