How about it? About ten years ago Steve Wonder recorded a nice song titled "Overjoyed," in which the rhythm is maintained by dripping water.
Some others:
"How Insensitive," by Percy Faith
"Song Sung Blue" by Neil Diamond
"Save the Best for Last" by Vanessa Williams
"When Did You Leave Heaven" by Carmen Lombardo

Van Morrison's "Moondance" is a great, very laid back CD. I also love the real bluesy Led Zeppelin stuff. Very cool.

Norwegan Wood in along time.
Excellent song.

I also like a lot of Crosby,Stills
and Nash."Guinevere" is a nice mellow one.

Oh, and "Riders on the Storm" always
gets me, too.

Anything by Cat Stevens is generally good and laid back. Especially Wild World.

Fake Plastic Trees by Radiohead. Freakin' brilliant.

I like native American music for mellow. Robbie Robertson has done some great compilations.

Doesn't meet my standards

Songs that put me in a serene, mellow mood include the Moody Blues' "Voices In the Sky" and Dire Straits' "Why Worry."

When I saw the late ChiefScott's name upthread, I figured it was more likely a zombie thread than a zombie poster.

And on topic, I'll second "More Than This."

"Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangione. Although it's bittersweet for me now since it was the song that was playing on the CD in my car when I left my mom after she died. :(

"Silent Lucidity" is one of my favorite Queensr˙che songs; it doesn't deserve the hate.

Well, okay... maybe it does deserve the hate. But either way, it's a beautiful song. :)

She's Not There is not very mellow, but Time of the Season might qualify.

When I really need to chill, it's either Crosby Stills & Nash, or James Taylor.

It's not just about music that is mellow in and of itself; it also has to be music that I am so familiar with that it doesn't demand any attention from me; it is like an old, comfortable pair of butter-soft jeans. They just do their job and let me focus on my need to chiiiiiiiiiiill the fuck out.

Crosby, Stills and Nash? Does "Marrakesh Express" qualify?

Sarah Mclachlan - Angel

Though now I can't listen to it without picturing starving animals thanks to that commercial.

JEM and Bjork performing Leaving on a Jet Plane (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OyJnyshM7ZA) is also awesome.

First thought that comes to mind is 2 from Yes's 1977 album Going for the One: "Turn of the Century" and "Wonderous Stories." Also "To Be Over" from their previous album, Relayer.

Plus the Beatles' "Something," "Because," and Sun King" from Abbey Road.
