View Full Version : What type of wallet do you have?

I have one that's just a bit longer than a bill, and has a bi-fold to it. There's another flap that folds over the folded halves and makes the wallet complete.
Simple bi-folds and tri-folds don't seem reasonable to me anymore. Why are they still acceptable?

Oh, wow. My wallet is just like that. Black ballistic nylon with a velcro closure. I buy them by the dozen at gun shows because they wear out, but they are cheap and handy.
I used to have a huge brick - wallet, checkbook combo that was giant. Had to carry it around in my hand rather than my pocket. I recently slimmed down to a simple bifold that does not have a money pocket. Instead, it has a metal clip that sticks down into it to hold money. Very slim, very light. I couldn't be happier. I bought it at Wal-Mart for like $10.

A leather trifold with two bill compartments. It was a present from an ex.

My absolute requirement in a wallet is for it to have a change compartment, which seems to go into style only every five years or so. I hate change clanking in my pocket.
My major credit cards are in it, and folding money, and my minor credit cards are in a credit card holder I keep in my other pocket. That is much easier to find.

I don't use a traditional wallet. I have a stainless steel card holder/cigarette case. It's the height and width of a credit card, about 1 cm thick. One half holds my cards and my folded paper money fits neatly into the other half.
This fits nicely into a front or back pants pocket without leaving a visible lump. I can also sit down without pulling it out, which is hard to do with a bulky leather wallet. Loose coins go in my pocket or stay in the office.

Duct tape wallet. Would never stick it in my pocket, but keep it in my briefcase.

Leather wallet/checkbook thing that I bought off of Ebay, I stopped carrying a wallet in my pocket several years ago and I like this thing because it holds everything (credit cards, cash, misc. I.D. cards checkbook and register), I don't carry my Drivers License in it though, I have one of those "cop style" I.D. things that holds my Drivers License and my Concealed Handgun License, I like keeping them together. When I got my CHL I started wearing one of those often maligned "fanny packs" and it is great (I call it my "purse"), it holds: wallet, PDA, I.D., spare truck key, gun and a spare magazine.

If have a Fossil one that I tried to look up but I guess they don't make anymore. It's bifold. What I like is that it's short because the cards slide in from the side rather than the top. On the other side from the cards it has an ID holder with a clear cover.
I must have looked at a hundred wallets at J.C. Penny's before I picked this one. The ironic thing is that I bought this one because I wanted something slimmer to go on vacation to Spain with, and once I got there I realized that Euro notes are taller than dollars and they didn't fit. Doh.

I have a wallet made by these (http://www.littlearth.com/) guys. They make stuff from recycled products.
It's made from a recycled truck tire. They don't seem to make it anymore. It's NOT the biker wallet they have.
I wish they had a picture of it because it's cool/ugly. It's got a mettalic blue racing stripe down the middle, and metal snaps.
I paid about $20 for it 6 or so years ago, and it basically shows ZERO signs of use. The most durable wallet I've ever had.

Rolfe, black leather. A plain old wallet.

Bifold with a Velcro closure and two top loading card holders and two side loading compartments that I've never used. I got it as a gift in 1979. I've never lost it and I figure as long as I hold onto this one I never will, besides a new one would never fit the 25 year old dent in my ass.

I use a money clip that has a window for a license/ID and a sleeve with room for about three or four cards. I keep it in my front pocket.

Leather bifold, with a little flippy up thing that has my driver's license in it. Very handy.
I used to have a safety orange nylon velcro number... but it got all nasty and I had to get rid of it.

Black leather with steel studs and a steel chain that clips to a belt loop. I don't want it stolen, and if I can look like a guy Not To Be Messed With, so much the better. It's quite bulky and full of junk, however, and not much money. On the plus side, it has a change purse section that zips completely shut. And if I whap you in the head with it, you'll know it. ;)
(Ironically, stealing it now would be pointless. I've got very little cash and the wallet doesn't contain my checkbook.)

My wallet is a rubber band tightly wrapped around my Drivers License, My Debit card, and my work id passcard.

Plain balck bifold, three card slots per side, no other junk to get in my way. I try to keep it from filling up with recipts and other detritus so it stays slim. I hate a thick wallet making a dent in my ass when I sit down.

I'm kind of surprised nobody has said "It's the one that says Bad Motherf*cker on it." I just thought of it. I wonder if anyone sells those? I could make a mint!

Brown leather tri-fold, with zippered coin pouch on the 'middle' part of the tri-fold (so it's on the backside when the wallet is closed), from Fossil.
It's nice, plain, simple, and fits in my front pocket with ease. (Unless I've sutffed too many coins in it!) I've had it for... Hm. Over three years now, and it's just now starting to show a few signs of age.
I <3 my wallet.

I have a Ducti (http://www.thinkgeek.com/cubegoodies/toys/5f21/images/) wallet. It's made almost completely with duct tape. It doesn't have a change compartment, though, and that is a little disappointing. A geeky wallet should have a change compartment.
