Tomorrow I am having a couple of friends over and making the traditional Halloween dinner. She is a witch, but doesn't cook, so I make the meal. All according to recipes full of symbolism and also with purpose. We eat :
Rye Bread with Dill Dip for Peace And Prosperity
Crab Stuffed Mushrooms for Protection From Negative Energy
White Fish in white wine sauce for Reduction of Psychic Visibility
Black Cat Wine (What else would one have with fish on Halloween?)
Clearsight Carrots for Better Vision
Noodles Allemande to Increase the Rational and Promote Balance
Apple Pie to Celebrate The Harvest And Plenty
I may make a French silk pie as well. I wonder what that can stand for. Anyone have any ideas? It is full of butter, eggs, and chocolate. I know this sounds pretty silly to a bunch of you, but really, it is no more silly than other traditional holiday meals, especially ones with religious meaning. It makes for a nice dinner, if it is a bit solemn. We take time to remember anyone we knew who died in the last year, lighting a candle for them if we would invite them back for a visit.
