Not that the trailer left much room for spoilers.....I hate it when they show a good scene like the escalator scene in the trailer, thereby lessening its impact in the movie.
Anyway, my question is this: In the final montage, Jennifer Lopez's dancing partner is her current RL husband, Marc Anthony. Was he shown earlier in the movie as well? My husband thinks he was the dancer who was disqualified in the dance competition, but I don't think so.
Thanks in advance.

I was simply under the impression she had found Some Other Partner(tm).

It's been awhile since I saw the original Japanese film, but I think that's what happens there, too.
I'm ambivalently trying to decide if I want to see this remake.

Well, with all the stuff about finding your One True Partner, I thought maybe she was making a point about Marc (finally!) being hers IRL. I don't think he was in the movie earlier, but I wish I knew for sure.
Askia, I am now tempted to rent the original. I missed it when it was first out.

I watched the credits and I'm fairly sure that the disqualified guy was played by someone other than whoever played her last-scene partner.

Brynda: If foreign language comedies are your thing, by all means rent the original Shall We Dance? It's fun and quite culturally accessible.

I haven't seen the remake, but because, the original was full of very Japanese cultural cues, I suppose they will have to rewrite it out of recognition. My favorite scene was seeing our nerdish hero doing his mundane job, but then we see his feet under the desk practicing his steps.

That's in the remake, too.

The original was fantastic.
