I was just reading an article about a cook-off involving cooks on Navy ships. Their rating was called a Culinary Specialist, or CS. I was in the Navy many moons ago, and I don’t recall that designation. What was their official title years ago?

This recent news release (http://www.news.navy.mil/search/display.asp?story_id=11398) from the Navy saysWASHINGTON (NNS) -- In a rating name change that better reflects their professional expertise, Mess Management Specialists (MS) will now be known as Culinary Specialists (CS).
