I checked out No Exit and Other Plays by Sartre from the library today. One of the plays is called Dirty Hands and has seven acts. That seems like a lot to me (though I haven't read it yet).

What's the most number of acts used in a play?

This article (http://www.jmucci.com/ER/articles/tamburlaine.htm) argues that Christopher Marlowe's Tamburlaine the Great, Parts I and II is actually a single 10-act play.

I'm not sure I buy it.
