For the life of me I can't remember when it was I paid for my SDMB subscription, and the emails concerning it got sacrificed to the Hard Disk God. I paid the smaller amount by getting in before the deadline, but I don't want my subs to run out then have to pay the bigger amount to renew.

Where can I find out when it was I paid and will I be notified when it's coming up for renewal?

Go to your User Control Panel.

Click on the "Paid Subscriptions" link on the left hand side.

That should do it.

Thankyou, do I have to pay just before it runs out or on the day?

A very good question.

Indeed. I saw a thread in passing that , I believe musicat started, saying she had renewed already.
Since subscribing didn't start until March and (at least mine) the subscription is good until April, would we lose those 2 months by renewing early? In other words, would my next renewal date be in April 2006 or Feb 2006 if I renewed now?

I renewed a little while ago. It extended it one year from my previous expiration date.

What This Year's Model said. Also what I said. (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=5834775#post5834775)

I believe it is possible to renew for more than one year at a time, if you dare, and yes, it appends to the end of your subscription.

As far as an automatically-generated notice, maybe 30 days before expiration date, that sounds like a good idea. Mods, any plans to implement something like this? Just once or twice wouldn't be nagging.

Would someone recap how you can renew for someone else? I forget the procedure, and it is bound to be brought up.

Whoops, it looks like I gave a circular reference. Sorry.

Here's the link to the other renewal thread. (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?p=5835130#post5835130)
