For those who are interested, Purp is on her way to visit me and my family in Idaho with her kidlings. YAY!
We will have our own mini-doperfest all next week.

She is driving, and as of 0945 MT she was halfway between San Antonio and El Paso, Texas. She plans to spend the night somewhere in New Mexico.

I will keep you updated on her progress.

VB, can you give her a big hug for me when you see her? She has been sounding like she really needs it! Goofy little on-line {{{}}} hugs are okay but real ones are so much better!

evilbeth, online hugs do leave something to be desired! I will do so. I also intend to print this out for her on her arrival.

I expect her and the kids to arrive tomorow evening around 6ish or so.

They stopped for the night at Las Cruces, just inside the New Mexico border, after a long but uneventful drive. She said the scenery was pretty, and when she called they had just come back from dinner and were heading for bed.

I have not heard from her yet this morning, but I expect an 'on the road' report within the hour.
If she keeps up the rate of travel, I would expect her to wind up in the vicinity of Denver tonight.

0935 MT update!

2 hours on the road, 100 miles south of Alberquerque, stopped in Truth or Consequences for gas, and heading for the 4 corners area. She says it's really beautiful country, in the mountains of New Mexico.

1220 update:

Purp and her little purps are a little bit east of Gallup, NM, doing lunch at a rest stop. A little windy, but the trip is going well so far; she's having a hard time keeping eyes on the road with some of the scenery.

They plan to spend the night somewhere in Utah.

As of 2230 MT, Purplebear was in Moab, Utah, and very tired. I told her to just sleep until her eyes opened.

She intends to stop briefly in Roy, (Just south of Salt Lake) to visit a friend of her daughter, and then proceed on up to bucolic Mountain Home, wherein lies the humble abode of yours truly. I expect her arrival around 1800 tonight.

Just waiting for the morning report now.

0936 update: "In the middle of nowhere", Utah. She is on 191, north of I70, for you map mavens. All is well, and she took my advice to sleep later. She sounds much refreshed, even through the static of the cell phone. She intends to call me when they leave SLC after their stop over.

My apologies to one and all; We have an internet connection that clogs in the evenings, so I couldn't get on.

Yes! (drum roll) PB and the two little bears arrived safely last night, 1930 MT.

We fed them sumptuously on spaghetti & meatballs, with salad on the side, and melon for dessert. The little bears and blues watched a movie, then they retired back to the motel for the night.

Mr. Bear, do you have your connection back, or are you still having to go to the cafe?

Ironically, right after I made the above post, I checked my email, and there was a message from the ISP changing my settings. They've completely replaced their servers, and have expanded bandwidth. Life is good! :)
