I have:

- Gotten a haircut.
- Picked a bunch of dead skin off the soles of my feet.
- Printed two (2) graphs.
- Fixed a stupid I/O bug in one of my programs.
- Started up a huge calculation which is currently grinding my advisor's Solaris workstation into the dirt. (In retrospect, there were other things I could have been noodling around with, instead of watching this chug, so I should have fiddled around with those and started the massive job right before I left. C'est la vie.)
- Written two (2) paragraphs of my thesis.
- Resisted the urge to go down to the vending machine to get chocolate.

Are we impressed? What have you accomplished with your day?

Bought a rain cover for a future mountain bike purchase.

Quickly re-learned a bit of SQL to provide some complex information from a database at work.

Decided what mountain bike I want.

It's my first day back so not much.

Cleaned out the freezer. Removed old and busted garbage disposal and replaced with newer, more bad ass version with much help from my lovely assistant Alias. I may clean out the fridge later now that all the junk can get tossed down the drain.

Right now, it's Guiness time. :D

- Made breakfast and lunches for my family.

- Entered over one hundred 'HHS Forms 1572' into my company's DocManagement system, in support of drug shipments to investigating physicians. Quite boring, really, but high attention to detail is required.

- Rescued Intaglio from a potential automotive overheat situation.

I'm proud to say I just washed yesterday's dirty dishes.

I cleaned the litter box.

I also fed bananas to Issy and made my bed.

As soon as I pull the chicken out of the oven and warm up some tortillas my day will be complete!

I spent a good portion of the morning upgrading my cell service and phones, I was on hold/transferred 3 times after not being able to do what I needed to do online. The hold time exceeded 20 minutes total after chatting online with customer service who gave me an 800 number to call and spending 1 1/2 hours trying to find it myself.

listened to 7 voice mails, responded to only one of them.
attended 1 meeting
participated in 1 conference call
wrote a couple hunderd lines of code. (while on hold and during the conference call)
had lunch at my desk and read the boards, still reading them actually. :D

Managed to get up.

WEnt to work, where I am trying to figure out & set up this new westernblot method for H. pylori IgG detection. Talked to some guy in Germany for 3 hours on telephone with the problems I was having. After doing the (long) procedure, I ended up with 95% positive rate (should be around 50%) for the second time. Now I am PISSED OFF!

Home eating dinner now.

I've knocked three items off today's "To Do" list already, and it's only 9.30am. The next one (finalising some role statements) will take me through until lunchtime though I suspect.

When I woke up this morning (well, it was noon, but whatever), the command interpreter of the computer game I'm making was a 1274 line awful mess involving triply nested switch statements.
Now, ~16 hours later, it's a neat and nicely modular system that can easily transition from one state to another, which does not require me to fiddle about much in order to save the information it needs, and which can be simply extended as needed.

So, I'm satisfied.

(And tired.)

** I made arrangements to send my poop-smearing Papillon I asked about on the board a couple weeks ago back to her breeder . I love her and hate to do it , but I cannot live with that habit any longer .

** I cleaned the kitchen (still need to mop the floor tho)

** I found a litter of Gordon Setter puppies in the club newsletter that seem to be just what I have been looking for , and called the breeder , made arrangements to buy a little Gordon boy ! :D

** I managed to write a little bit , and will try to write a little more before bed (If I can get puppy breath off my mind...)

- Turned in my final exam essay in Hindu Tratitions, which was written almost entirely on a five year old Compaq PDA and my dad's old laptop because (see below)
- My hard drive crashed Friday night, so I had to call Dell today to arrange an on-site replacement.
- Went to Wal-Mart in search of a blender. Didn't find one I liked.
- Went to Target in search of a blender. Laughed at the slushie machine designed to look like a pair of pants with the spout coming out of the crotch. Didn't find a good blender though.
- Went to Linens N' Things in search of a blender. Was not impressed.
- Went to Lowe's and purchased a 5-speed KitchenAid blender.
- Refilled the bird feeder.
- Downloaded some software programs I'll need once my new hard drive is installed.

Today (Monday) I: Finished the docs for today's software delivery
Learned who in the office is authorized to bind the company in legal agreements
Worked on the docs for Thursday's software delivery
Sent out a couple of Toastmasters e-mails
Ordered a new toy (http://www.kk.org/cooltools/archives/000855.php)
Learned how to find out what percentage of one number a second number is (don't laugh, I didn't know!)
Thought about working on the newsletter that's due on Friday
Putzed about the SDMB instead
Told my officemate about the change of venue of the farewell lunch we're going to tomorrow
Went to my t'ai chi class (and I only fidgeted twice during meditation)
Watched the episode of The 4400 that I taped last night
Made a batch of macaroni tuna salad
Removed the polish from, cut, and then re-polished my toenails
Refrained from pulling off the loose toenail (http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=316694) that's going to fall off all by itself pretty soon
Finshed ripping some CDs
Putzed around the SDMB some more
It doesn't look like much, but I'm tired! :)

Stopped the maintenance man from coming into my apartment. The office manager needs to write more clearly, and I need to always wear my robe. This is why I got a chain for the door of my last apartment. After maintenance came into my apartment twice while I was in the shower, management even agreed to install it for me at no charge. :D
