The she in question being Coretta Scott King. As an Atlanta citizen, I hear all too often about the great Coretta Scott King. But, what is it that makes her so wonderful? Near as I can tell, she is revered mainly because she outlived her famous, important, and influential husband. And, that she has done a pretty good job of trading his name and past deeds for her monetary gain.

But, I also admit that I'm probably seriously uneducated on what she has done post-assassination to warrant much more than a shrug. So, what has Coretta Scott King done in life besides marry MLK, jr?

Amongst the fluff of being the spouse of a very famous and influential person are facts that show that Mrs. King has had serious influence in her own right in many areas beyond race relations.

It feels a bit unfair to take a shot at her for trading on Dr. King's name for monetary gain, when that is the way of the world for most people connected to infamous or famous people. Seems to me that Mrs. King has used her value as the spouse of a civil rights leader to forge new relationships and develop new programs and outreach centers.

Hardly a shill making a fast buck, IMHO.
